Thought OV got away with an interference when he tossed Malkin to the ice there.

They seem to letting them play though - very physical game early. A little Patrick Division hockey in the Patrick Division jerseys.

A handful of *just* late hits on the boards, Sid tripped, Geno taken down, Alzner run into exiting the zone. Yeah, they're going for a five on five game.

A couple of the guys who have been tempted to dance with Tom Wilson tonight have made a good decision not to do so.

I didn't see any trips yet though, Pix. I think a couple were bad skating or lost balance (both sides).

Yeah, normally when the game is televised up here (Ottawa) I'm getting a national feed, so I don't see much of Root either but haven't heard good things. Not that the national feeds are much better but at least I'm used to them...

I love Joe B. - honestly think he's one of the top 3 play-by-play guys in hockey. His prose is outstanding. The color guy Craig Laughlin is a hopeless homer, but he's pretty funny, admits what he is, and is an institution at this point.

Koken is filling in - he's generally an inbetween and near ice reporter during games. He's not so great on the play-by-play in my opinion. Prone to getting overexcited.

I like Joe too, it's funny that certain hockey memories exist with certain guys calling them, and he's got some good ones in my mind from his VS days. "EVGENI MALKIN! MY WORD! SPECTACULAR FOR THE HAT TRICK"
