Shoot. homey I was talking about square pegs n round holes going back to Gibbs 2.0. The Skins have engaged in that nonsense going back at least that far. When Gibbs made Clinton Portis a workhorse RB.

Commanders is 1000 times better than Football team. Cmon now. It could have been alot worst.

Commanders is straight up USFL, .XFL, or WFL-ish. And it's not just the name. It's all the bullshit lies Snyder underlings habitually engage in trying to protect Snyder. The man deserves Snyder no protection. The sloppiness (the dates on the logo, how ST's tribute was handled) and clueless nature of the FO. And while I'm far from a prude. It doesn't exactly warm my cockles rooting for a team that's been accused of all the shit the Skins have been accused of over the last few years.

The name sucks because it has no tie to the teams history. They could have picked a name that had something in common with the history.

breed is right, Snyder dicked all of this up just like he does with everything. The man couldn't run a one car funeral.

Additionally, I have said the same as breed and some others here. It is hard to root for a team owned by a guy who is such a turd of a human being.

All those names you named had the benefit of being around long before those other leagues started up. I'm used to em I guess though I have no fuckin idea what a packer is. I believe the Browns were named after Paul Brown and a dolphin certainly is an apex predator. Some dolphin species have bigger brains than humans and killer whales are part of the dolphin family. It don't get anymore apex than a killer whale when it comes to the oceans.

We all won't feel the same way in a few seasons. The Commanders is shitty name. Even if they win....which is a pipe dream long as Snyder has his hands on the team.

If we kept the same uniforms, it would have tributed to the past. that was a mistake. I like the new helmet and name. We ddint need new uniforms. Yes the helmet and name had to change.

Certain species of sharks are known to eat dolphins, though which makes a dolphin not an apex predator, though I agree with you that it's not that simple. Killer whales are definiltely apex predators, though the killer whale is not the dolphin depicted on the Dolphin's helmet.

You will absolutely feel diferrently as the years roll on for the same reason that you accept that Packers and Browns and Texans Cardinals and Seahawks are legitimate names.

It didn’t have to change , it’s a new team and will have to earn my fandom . I will give it a chance but as long as Snyder is in the picture I doubt they win my fandom .

Somehow this got lost

This has always been our position! The use of ACTUAL tribal names, monikers such as "Scouts" "Braves" sans the caricature, "Warriors" et.al would have all been accepted. Re-read paragraph 2 which offers clarity to the same. What is not supported are names and caricatures that denigrate such as the one formerly held by Washington in name and Cleveland in design. I personally knew of no one that opposed the Washington logo, Snyder could have continued to use that and substitute the name for one that met what is supported in paragraph 2 above.

I couldn't imagine wearing a Commanders jersey with 44 on it.
