Do not be fooled. This name change was not about respecting Native Americans. This was purely about money. Millionaires wanting to spend other people's money. You know what I did not see at the press conference? All the native American groups that were so against the Redskin name. Where were they? Shouldn't they have been standing behind our owners applauding them for the name change? Maybe even give a tribal leader a moment to speak on how great the name change is for Native Americans. There was no one there to speak on their behalf because they don't care, this was about money to fix the stadium that the snyders didn't want to pay. And lastly take that 1932 off because it has nothing to do with the Commanders. There is no tradition, it's done. Just like the Oilers becoming the Titans. We will soon be forgotten. Hail To The Redskins Forever!!!

I tried to warm up to this name but with each passing day I like it less. My team was the Redskins.

The Redskins never wore black. They never wore that red color on the white jersey.

Not so sure I like RR .... he is no different than Jay Gruden. It all just feels like more of the same and Snyder has taken more from the history of the team.

The only thing that will get me out of this re-brand funk is if they find a QB, win consistently, and are able to build a state of the art stadium somewhere inside the beltway or just outside of it. Oh, and fix the crest and the shade of red on the white jerseys.

For a team with highest-end expectations of finishing at or just below .500 and back-dooring into the playoffs to catch a super wildcard weekend ass paddling. that seems a little excessive.

So if RR isn't the answer, n I agree, he isn't. What should the Skins do? Fire him? And hire who after that. Del Rio? That would just be more of the same wouldn't it. Does anyone think some up n comer asst coach will want this job? I don't unless they owe big money to the mob or some shit.

I don't see any of the top tier QBs wanting to come here either. There's already stories coming out opining P0#n star Jimmy or Teddy B would be a good option. Both are better than TH. Both are also injury-prone. Neither will cost much and neither take you where you wanna go.

People in general really do not like new things. IF you were truly objective there are way worse names in the NFL than Commanders. If everyone had their minds wiped clean and were told their favorite teams names imagine your team being called the Browns, Dolphins, Packers or maybe even the 49ers. In like 2 years nobody will even notice or care about the name. Washington DC is known for their big government and military community so commanders would make more sense as nobody is thinking native americans when washington DC is mentioned.
