seattles awsome HS guys in the draft...

CB-B (74): Walter Ford, RHP, Pace HS (Fla.) -- $1,250,000 (Pick value: $887,400)
An early fan favorite on social media, Ford opted to sign with Seattle over a commitment to Alabama. As such, the club gave him more than the slot value for his pick. The super competitive righty is 6-foot-3, 198 pounds and already touches 97 mph.

lolol....Izzi...is an awsome name by the way...used to be a resturant..in alaska called that....lolol
4 (126): Ashton Izzi, RHP, Oswego East HS (IL) -- $1,100,000 million (Pick value: $474,900)
As expected, the Mariners went way over slot value to sign the highly projectable high school arm, who has a commitment to Wichita State. At 6-foot-3 and 165 pounds, he has a fastball that tops out at 97 mph, and he complements it with a low-80s slider and changeup that's shown promise.

9 (276): Tyler Gough, RHP, JSerra Catholic HS (Calif.) -- $275,000 (Pick value: $159,400)
Gough was another expected over-slot sign, given that he is also a prep arm with a commitment to Oregon State. He wowed at the MLB Combine last month and had a very productive meeting with Mariners director of amateur scouting Scott Hunter, which in part led to the match.

these guys are as awsome as it gets....altogether....hopefully...they are even better

In addition to throwing 96-97 mph, Ford is a power-hitting infielder who reclassified high schools in order to be Draft eligible. Gough was one of the more impressive prospects at last month’s Combine, striking out each of the five batters he faced. Izzi also competed there, allowing Hunter to get to better know them. Each was ranked higher on MLB Pipeline’s list of Top 250 Draft prospects than the actual pick number at which the Mariners selected him, indicating that Seattle acquired value without overreaching

collage starters....for mariners..in draft...
5 (156): Reid VanScoter, LHP, Costal Carolina -- $20,000 (Pick value: $353,900)
The Sun Belt Pitcher of the Year this past season as a redshirt senior was one of many Mariners picks that agreed for well under slot value, which allowed them to allocate more money to their high school selections.

more of a spot start guy...and bull pen...if he turns out a starter...ok..then..

11 (336): Marcelo Perez, RHP, TCU -- $125,000

Darren Bowen 2020 Headshot

25DARREN BOWEN

  • CLASS Redshirt Sophomore
  • POSITION Pitcher
  • HEIGHT 6-3
  • WEIGHT 180
  • HOMETOWN St. Pauls, N.C.
  • HIGH SCHOOL Red Springs HS
Not great collage numbers...but as a sophmore...that does not matter..a lot..

What matters..is he has stuff to work with...and a learning attitude...

if scott.hunter..thinks...he has it...he prob does

I'm not sure..if they want him Bull pen or
Start
...but it can change so...just stand by..

more of a spot start guy...and bull pen...if he turns out a starter...ok..then..

continue with draft..collage starters....

Round 16: RHP Jacob McNairy, Alabama

A senior sign, McNairy hates walking people almost as much as George Kirby hates walking people. McNairy issued just 18 free passes in 72 innings while striking out 65. With his command and a deep arsenal, McNairy projects as an organizational starting pitcher.

Round 17: RHP Stefan Raeth, Washington (go dawgs)

A local pick! Raeth was recently named to the All-Pac 12 (RIP) team after striking out 89 batters in 66 innings this season. He has a wicked slider and is a Driveline athlete.

ound 18: LHP Brandon Schaeffer, North Carolina

Another college pitcher, but this time a lefty. Schaeffer’s college numbers won’t jump out at you—although he’s a workhorse who pitched a CG this season—but there’s some interesting stuff here. Schaeffer has a year of eligibility left and transferred to UNC from D2 Potomac State, so he might stick around for another year to see if he can improve his draft standing with another year of D1 baseball under his belt.

its all...good with..these guys...see ya at modesto....start or bull pen.....

i expect the mariners will...add..to these guys...next year...
