Was the hit on Foles cheap?

It was absolutely cheap and there's a reason why they made the Chad Clifton rule so that players wouldn't do that anymore

it use to be a clean hard hit. now it is considered a penalty. qb's should be told to get down after throwing a pick instead of trailing after the int returner

When I say legal I mean clean block had the guy been trying to make a play. Foles IMO was rendered helpless just kinda standing there

It warranted a penalty, but not an ejection. Refs overreacted since it was such a huge hit.

If we can't abide Qbs, punters and kickers taking hits like football players, we should make them run off the field after a possession change. Otherwise, nut up and accept that you might take a hit if you intend, or pretend to make a football play.

The ejection was a result of the punches and fighting afterwards.


He did not get ejected for the cheap shot.


That would have only been a 15 yard penalty....


But, once you start fighting, you usually get tossed.

I thought it was legal myself. Another Skins fan told me it happened after Breeland was tackled on the thought to be INT. Which wouldn't make it legal if that's the case.

Regardless, either make it a rule that on an INT. A QB cannot be touched/blocked. Nor can he attempt to make a tackle or in any other way interfere with the player who intercepted the ball.

But you originally said it was legal.

If Foles is just standing there watching things unfold, making no gesture of getting into the play, then it's not legal.

But Foles did somewhat react as if he was going to get involved (stepped towards the direction of the ball carrier) and got laid out.

Cheap and illegal. First, the ball carrier was down 5 yards away. 2nd, he hit him from the side when foles was just standi g there. Then, he grabs peters facemask like a sissy instead of trying to take him on face to face.

It's been illegal for about a decade. Factually speaking that's not disputable.

Was it a cheap shot? I say yes. He intentionally charges Foles and launched his shoulder into him when he wasn't looking, away from the play. Hugh Douglas did this to the Bears QB about 14 years ago, Jim Miller, and knocked him out of a playoff game. That was dirty too, but at the time it was a legal play.

Foles has to be smarter than that, and keep his head on a swivel. I am sure he has learned that lesson now.

The good news is that it seemed to fire Foles up. He stayed in the game and threw a pretty TD pass to Maclin on the same drive that put the Eagles ahead for good. Gritty win.

I don't really know much about Dennis Kelly other than he's a bitch. He had a front row seat to see Foles get absolutely destroyed and his first instinct was to turn to the ref rather than immediately confront the offender. I want my lineman acting like secret service agents protecting the president.

Really no reason to do that. If it happened to Cousins the Skins would have been up in arms. Way to many injuries in football to have ass hats going out of their way. If it was a key block then fine but Foles wasn't going to male any play.
