I love hoe the guy who posted the rules left out this very important piece.

The second part of the rule is written as such.

"A passer who is standing still or fading backwards after the ball has left his hand is obviously out of the play and must not be unnecessarily contacted by the defense through the end of the play or until the passer becomes a blocker, or until he becomes a runner upon taking a lateral from a teammate or picking up a loose ball, or, in the event of a change of possession on the play, until the passer assumes a distinctly defensive position. However, at any time after the change of possession, it is a foul if (i) an opponent forcibly hits the quarterback’s head or neck area with his helmet, facemask, forearm, or shoulder, or (ii) if an opponent lowers his head and makes forcible contact with the top/crown or forehead/”hairline” parts of his helmet against any part of the quarterback’s body. This provision (ii) does not prohibit incidental contact by the mask or the helmet in the course of a conventional block."

Is it illegal or just cheap.

You can make a legitimate argument either way on whether it was technically legal. But at the end of the day it was a complete bitch move by Baker.

You ever notice how most of the hardest hitters/ best defensive players don't usually get their reputation by blind-siding Quarterbacks when they are completely removed from the play? That's because they make actual plays on people with the ball, or make blocks on people actually pursuing the ball-carrier. You never see guys like JJ Watt, Kam Chancellor, Troy Polamalu, DeMarcus Ware, etc. make hit like this. It's always these unknown mental midgets that are borderline starters in the league and have to try to make themselves feel better by getting off a "big hit" no matter what situation it comes in. I think Chris Baker was just frustrated because his fat-ass has zero sacks and only 6 tackles on the season. There's no way he didn't know that was Nick Foles like he claims. He's a coward, and a bitch.

I agree. But don't cherry pick the rules so they work in your favor. That's a bitch move as well.

It's a legal hit. Foles was following the play which means he was not fading out of the play. If he had rolled the opposite direction you could have an argument but he didn't. The truth is just like with a QB sliding after a scramble he should have been more aware of what was happening on the field.

Here's why Baker wasn't fined, according to Troy Vincent, the NFL’s executive vice president of football operations, via the Washington Post.
“Baker didn’t do anything wrong with that hit,” Vincent said. “When you look at the rule, he didn’t do anything illegal. People can say it’s a cheap shot and you can talk about whether it might fall under unsportsmanlike conduct. But when you know the rule and you look at the play, he didn’t hit him in the head. He didn’t hit him in the neck. We looked at it. I looked at it very closely. He’s not going to be fined for that.”

Perish the thought. Getting mad at something someone says on the internet. Who I don't know in anyway at all is too much a waste of time. I do find internet tough guy posts tend to bring the chuckles and grins out in me and prompt the occasional response from time to time..

I also have the same number of sacks as you and Baker this season. And considering that he has one sack in a career that in some way has spanned 6 seasons or so. I wouldn't be surprised if you or I got a sack before Baker does this season.

That's my point though. The dude sucks and has never and probably will never be able to pull off a big hit like that on a player who isn't just standing there waiting to be taken out. He only hit Foles because he wanted to feel like a "badass". That's cowardly, and if having that opinion makes me an "internet tough guy" then so be it.

Unless one is a really damn good/great DT or moreso NG, which is the position Baker is playing for the Skins and he's not really damn good or great imo. They don't make a lot plays IE tackles and sacks. Baker's job is to cog up the middle and hopefully make at least 2 interior OL have to account for him on pretty much every play. Some may debate that, but one job he is certainly paid not to do or asked not to do is to sack QBs.

I have no problem personally if Baker put a little stank on it when he hit Foles. I didn't see it as Baker trying to hurt or injure him though. Back in the day in fact, that's what coaches taught defensive players to do. If we get a turnover we're returning, find the closest opposing player to you and block him. Maybe I'm old, but to me that's a football play. Baker didn't use his helmet nor did he hit Foles in the head/face area. He hit him with his shoulder and in Foles chest.

A bitch move is Kobe Bryant sitting in a Boulder, Co police station for alleged r*pe and saying to police. He should've just paid ol' girl off. Like Shaq paid off other girls for the shit he supposedly did to them in other states. All the while with whatever Kobe did in Boulder having nothing to do with what Shaq allegedly did wherever he allegedly did it. That's a bitch move. A 100%, uncut, pure, unadulterated bitch move.
