So frustrating. They played with energy in the 4th and sense of urgency but to late of course. Man this team is an enigma
it wasn't complacency...this team simply isn't elite. The defense was terrible and this is yet ANOTHER bad loss.
Six seed. If they continue to play disinterested D like this, a first round exit.
This team is as good as the 2nd tier rockets, clips, Portland ect. I think they will recover from this loss
look at those teams schedules and find me a dozen bad losses like the Ws have had.
You cant.
They are better.
SMH, to quote my brother Dennis, "Is the sky falling?"
We should really measure our reaction a bit here lest it become overreaction. The main problems the other night were a lack of identity from the second unit and a lack of Klay overall.
The second unit is just gelling, and over the last couple of games, they've struggled to figure out how best to score. What are the main options? Barnes or Crawford one v one? In the post to O'Neil? I don't see a real focus on ball movement, nor, quite frankly, do I see the defensive energy that I would want from anyone coming off the bench. After starting to have some success as a unit, the last two games should give these players a reality check and perhaps Coach might start going to Speights a bit as well.
No, it's not falling. The Ws simply are not consistent enough on either end of the court to be elite. That's all I've ever maintained. They'll be in the playoffs and they've got a chance to get to the second round. They are frustrating because they have the ability to be better (especially on D) but they aren't.
If homers like Hanbombs would just accept that truth instead of trotting out a stat or two without analysis I'd be satisfied.
But he won't, and the Ws won't play consistently good D. Thus, my re-posts.
Last I checked, this is The Association. Perhaps not including Philly right now, any team is capable of winning and any team is capable of stumbling. You're right; they completely deserved to lose, but still, you're overreacting.Cmon, man...they gave up 50% shooting to one of the worst teams in the league...at home...after a day off...with no significant injuries and only Klay gone. You simply CANNOT lose that game in March and be a legit contender. That's not overreaction, it's just the truth. Avi was a turnstyle, Steph couldn't stay in front of his man, Crawford played way too many minutes and was exposed on D, etc, etc, etc. I don't disagree with the offensive shortcomings you point out, but if you're giving up 100+ to the Cavs, at home, after a day off, you pretty much deserve to lose.
Well, if you were forecasting results last week, you would have bet on a win at home v Cleveland and a loss in Rip City. In that context, tonight's huge win certainly "makes up" for that huge loss.Huge win tonight and a huge comeback.....the Cleveland loss was huge and this doesn't make up for it, but it's a great win and hopefully gets them back on track.
6-2 in the last eight sound better than 1-2 out of the last three.
