Just told me he expects 11 sacks this season.

@QBKILLA As a Niner fan, What should I expect from Aldon Smith this season? 8+ sacks?

I hope Warren is right, that would be a great addition to a horrible pass rush

I like that Warren is such a big fan of Aldon. How special would that be to have the DROY right here in SF. Aldon will need some help if he is to get double digits.

That is a very good video. Aldon looks like a beast, and he read that pass play well.

What I love about this is if Aldon is the real deal then we'll have both him and Justin Smith lining up on the right side. Only one of them can be double teamed by the opponents, leaving one of them open to get to the QB. If the offense decides to slide the rb over to help, then it opens the other side for McDonald, another talented pass rusher, to get to the qb. I also like Brooks or Applewhite starting on the left side and perhaps getting some pressure. We could have a decent pass rush this year fellas!

I think Justin Smith should be able to accomplish that, he might not get a ton of sacks but he is disruptive.. enough to make teams pay if they decide to double up or chip Aldon all day.

Thanks for posting that vid on Aldon. I'd seen some others in the series featuring other college players and Mooch, but never that one. Makes me like him that much more!

Sure thing. I stumbled upon it while watching Aldon highlights. Luckily.

I remember when the Niners signed Justin Smith, many people complained about the fit (he's too small for 3-4 DE) but I loved it because his game is suited for the 3-4 and he's been one of the best defensive players on the team.

I can't wait to see Aldon Smith, sacking Kolb, Bradford and who ever Seattle sends out to play QB.

He's perfect size for 34 OLB. So I don't know why they complained about his 34 DE size.

I was talking about Justin Smith not Aldon Smith with that comment. Aldon is the ideal fit at OLB, Justin Smith when he signed was a little undersized but his style of play fit the 3-4 DE position. Justin Smith doesn't get the sack numbers of other players but he is the 2nd best defensive player on the team.

Exactly!

My hope is that Fangio runs a 3-4 scheme similar to what we ran in '84, which was a heavy rotation hybrid. We had 4 in the dirt as much or more often then we had 3.
