I grew up in SJ and have been watching them since the JBC/Sleepy Floyd days but I haven't had much of a chance of following them lately. I used to get NBA TV to follow them but that just costs too much so it's been whenever they're on ESPN/TNT and following box scores for me.

I started following them in 76/77. That was two years after their championship season. Worst time to start as that was the start of their downfall. I watched the finals but was too young and really didn't get to appreciate it.

You been watching the Warriors? Been playing real good lately. Too bad they lost to the clips, almost had it

Obviously losing the Sonics got me bitter about the NBA, but I do tune in when the playoff start because playoff basketball is fun to watch… Caught a few of the Warriors games vs San Antonio last year and was impressed… Good young team… Curry is fun to watch… looks like 4-8 in the west is wide open for playoff spots… I'll tune in once the playoffs start… Good luck with that…

Maxwell was a fucking stud. I said when he took over he was playing better than Browner.

It's been a long struggle after the cocktease in '95 too.

Walter thurmond is a good player he was going to come in and start after the browner suspension but the fool tested positive for an illegal substance and got a 4 game suspension. Thats when byron maxwell came in and played well and Pete decided to go with maxwell over thurmond

Sounds like w/ PEDs Thurmond is a capable player and without them - like when I got a good look at him in the playoffs - he's trash.

My concern, and suspicion is that most of these Seattle DBs are a product of their environment, and not actually that good. I think their safeties are good, but I'm starting to suspect that even I could play corner there...

Has anyone considered that they might have a really good DB coach? We know they have a solid pass rush, a damn good safety tandem, and solid corners. Give them credit when they're do.

Wow. Weak. The Giants?!

Ian Rapoport ‏@RapSheet 10m

CB Walter Thurmond has agreed to a one-year deal with the #Giants, source says (as @AdamSchefter reported). Still hosting DRC today tho.

I wasn't big on him anyway like some other folks were. This is a player who strongly benefited from playing in a fierce front 7 defense.

Walter Thurmond III - DB - Giants

Giants signed CB Walter Thurmond III, formerly of the Seahawks, to a one-year, $3.5 million contract.

The Giants are arguably having the best free agency period, not that that necessarily means a whole lot. Thurmond, 26, has good size at 5-foot-11 and 190 pounds and can play the slot and outside. We'd tentatively expect him to start opposite Prince Amukamara. Trumaine McBride will be the No. 3 corner. Thurmond's market was likely affected by his November suspension.

So they almost doubled our offer of 1 year $2M.
