Here are some mind blowing stats from the e spin blog.

*Was LT for 5,703 Passing plays played 13 nfl seasons and started every single game of his career.

*He was called for holding NINE times, .0016%

*He was beaten for a sack 23 times which is less then twice a season, Jones allowed his quarterback to be sacked only once in every 248 pass attempts or .004 percent of the time.

* Jones was voted into nine Pro Bowls and was a six-time Associated Press All-Pro. He also was voted to the NFL’s All Decade team for 2000-10. In 2005, Sporting News listed Jones as the best player in the NFL at any position.

Munoz and Ogden are in the conversation too of course, but those are some mind blowing stats.

18 false starts in over 9,000 career snaps as well.

Though I gotta say Orlando Pace was no slouch either.

I feel like Orlando Pace is underrated in this conversation because Mike Martz was always trying to get his QB killed

Jones went two years without giving up a sack. Gave up two in one day(Umenyiora in the game the Giants kept missing FGs) then went another year and a half without à sack.

Call me biased because I wasn't around to see Munoz play, but I don't think I've seen a more consistently dominant LT than Willie Roaf.

From the guys that I've been able to see and remember, none come close in mind than Walter Jones and Orlando Pace. Its tough to argue with Jones's numbers either. I remember in 2005 when we had Jones and Steve Hutchison as our LG and the team joked that they would tell the defense that they were going to run left with Shaun Alexander and dare the D to stop them and they never could. Our 3rd down and short conversion rate was crazy efficient. Then Ruskell had to ruin everything by paying Alexander a king's ransom and F'ing up the Hutch deal with the infamous Viking's poison pill clause after we gave Hutch the transition tag.

Obviously I'm very biased towards Jones, but please, someone show me ANY offensive lineman with better stats than Jones

There is a case to be made of Walter Jones being the greatest LT of all time but one thing that I do not believe can be doubted is that Walter Jones and Steve Hutchinson formed the best left side in NFL history.

I don't claim to be an expert on offensive linemen but I do not believe there has been a better LT-LG combo in NFL history.
