I am not even sure McCarron would win the job, but there is a level of irony considering he got hurt against the team that at one time tried to trade multiple day 2 picks for him.

From a competitive standpoint, yes.

But...
1. I get to see young guys play for my team and up-and-comers try to make the roster.
2. Good tool for fantasy football. Get a little sense of how the lines are holding up and who's getting snaps and targets on the first few drives
