My biggest problem with Ross is that we drafted the pick before KC selected Mahomes. Talk about a fuck up.Likely fair about point #1 - but Burrow was clearly not happy...whatever the issues are, I actually think this is a good thing. Burrow likely needs to push a bit more to get the offense on its best setup, IMO.
All is like a better version of Sample in this: He's clearly a better option in the passing game, and Burrow seemed to like him a lot. He was also a good and WILLING blocker - not Sample good, but his willingness means he likely will get better here. The perfect mix between Gesicki (big slot WR) and Sample (Blocking TE). Agreed - this means we likely start to see more of McLachlan - clearly they saw a lot of him to keep him on the roster and did not want to lose him. Hudson is fine for what he is - and has clearly fallen on the depth chart with All being more ready than expected. I expect to see more of him in the short-term until Lachlan shows he can get on the field now.
I think this is a bit unfair to Yoshi. Yes, there are going to be some experience issues - but I think to draw any kind of correlation with Ross is - well - I think off base. Ross caught 51 passes for 10 TD's in his 4 year career with the Bengals. Yoshi in 1 1/2 half years has 30 receptions for 8 TD's. He's also the 3rd/4th target on most plays - whereas Ross was a day 1 starter. Yes, still some inexperience, but he's also flashed with some really solid catches, in some big spots, and of course - it never hurts to have a guy who just seems to score TD's....but on the current trajectory - Yoshi is going to blow past Ross, potentially, in just 2 years. I think you can do a lot worse than having a guy like Yoshi being your 3rd WR when a starter goes down - or when an expected high talented rookie seems to be his own worst enemy on getting into the games.
