IIRC, his scouting report out of college mentioned about his strength on the edge may not be there vs bigger OL as his explosiveness is his primary asset. Would make sense for the guy to roid up to shore up his player weakness.

I always thought Lewis was using something last year. If you're retiring why wouldn't you use something to get you back on the field sooner? They can't test you if you're not in the league anymore.
