Lo I have been hearing that for how long now? No doubt virus' do exist, and more people will crack the OS, but I have had mine for 4 years now. I use the worst possible programs like limewire and download torrents endlessly. Still runs as fast as day one and nothing to show virus wise.

Yeah, +1 on all that.

Well you are lucky or you have no idea you have spyware. Most Mac viruses are user fault due to typing in your user name and password when not knowing what you are installing. Windows on the other hand will do it silently not knowing that you are. Windows 7 has pretty much fixed that but most ppl just turn off the UAC (User Account Control). Also one other note not sure if you ever heard of "SANDBOXIE" It’s a program that separates your internet browser from the rest of your files sort of like a sand box. You can go and download any nasty file you want and it will never infect a thing on your PC. Mac actually uses a similar thing with its browser as a default but not as good but still works well. PC’s browsers are installed with all it’s programs. So essentially you can have only Sandboxie installed on your PC and never get a virus again 100% guaranteed.

I must be lucky too. I download a lot of music off Vuze an my Mac runs as nicely as the day I bought it.

I was just kidding about the music downloading. That's illegal and I would never do such a thing.

EDIT: I also haven't downloaded a couple game emulators...

5) ESET Nod32 Anytivirus

AntiVirus Software Review 2010 - TopTenREVIEWS

Isn't this true of all pretty much all viruses?

I must be lucky as well.

I think a lot of virus can be user fault. I got a new PC last year but had used the previous one for almost 10 years without a problem. And I checked out every celebrity sex tape, numerous song downloads (paid for of course) and anything I wanted, without fail.

My friend during the same time went through 4 Macs in that time frame, and would bitch about some sort of 'planned obsolescence' or some crap like that. It was because of his stupid Piratebay downloads.

You're bascially fucked no matter what you do really.

Everytime you spend money on the latest and greatest thing, someone comes up with another way to screw you over. That then leads to more software or upgrades you need to buy to protect against that.

I think the makers of the anti-virus software are the ones who also put out most of the virusus.

It's a viscious cycle.

MACS are for teenage girls and old men that lack common sense.

It's extremely easy to never have a virus on your OS with a regular desktop. Stick to the normal booby sites.

Free AVG works flawlessly for me. Never had any troubles. Norton on the other hand is atrocious. It's a huge memory hog, comes with a ton of useless crap and to top it all off it doesn't ever pick up anything. Bah.

Or people who want to drop $100 flat on an older-than-the-internet-itself laptop that works flawlessly. I might someday buy a brand new computer, and if I do I will probably grab a PC. But for now, my Mac cost less than some of your anti-virus programs, it's older than my car, and it works great.

My anti-virus stuff is free. Just like the booby sites.
