I don't want to worry about Teller's position right now. I'm just excited that we got him, and happy to let him and the coaches figure out where he can achieve his potential the best. If that does turn out to be DT or OT, though, that would be a bonus. We certainly have less depth at those positions than we do at DE.

Gayle, Wilson, Collins, and Hopkins should all be gone before the 2014 class enrolls, and both Marshall and Maddy should be seniors and gone by the time the c/o 2014 redshirt year is over, so we definitely need some good new blood coming in with Wyatt the only DL recruit in the 2013 class.

I don't think there's any chance of landing all 3 out of Brown, Nnadi, and Walker. If Brown or Nnadi commits, the other of those 2 most likely looks elsewhere from what I've heard. As long as we get Walker, I'd be perfectly fine with that.

I haven't seen Street's highlights, but just going off his size (6'4" 255 already) he would appear to be another like Teller who might end up moving inside. I'm assuming Burke will start out at TE. A couple other guys that the recruiting services list as DEs could end up moving inside or over to O. We should have the flexibility we need to take a number of guys and still find places for everyone. Props to the coaches for planning ahead and having space to take a number of DL recruits in the stud 2014 class.

This is the recruiting philosophy I have been wanting for several years. I am sure it is alot of hard work to get on the road and trying to convince all of these guys to come play in Blacksburg (especially the OOSers). But if they work hard, visit and offer a ton of quality players (aka #Godsconference coaches) then the odds of you getting your fair share of the 4-5** superstars are much better.

Still surprised Marshawn Williams isn't in there (isn't currently even ranked).

Bauer was actually #92, and you missed Miller (#91), Mihota, and Walker. Wow, that's quite a list.

Have we really offered McDermott? Neither Rivals nor 247 are showing that.

Yeah, you are right. Don't know how I got Mcdermott on there.

Scout is saying Terence Ricks LB, Chesapeake was offered a couple weeks ago. Nothing on Rivals or VTScoop though.

Thanks Hokiegrad!

The whole McDermott thing was my fault. I looked at Wiles' recruiting page on rivals an it listed McDermott as a target. God I'm so excited for this recruiting season. That list is ridiculous.

Surprised no Williams Walker Mihota think they may be suffering from VA top heavy class 8 guys in the top 106 and not another untill the final #250. Still a great class! Also the PD is not getting the props as the other district in 757 recently.

247 finally ranked Kentavious Street. They have him at 4* (90).

Here's a free 247 article on the top NC recruits, many of which are VT targets. Note: this author's order does not line up with their 247 rankings.
24 in N.C. to watch for 2014

Mihota WOW What do these kids do or not do to drop off. Even with more kids being evaluated it shouldnt have changed his evaluation. Probably because of his early commitment. He had a good junior year. Seems no ryme or reason to these ratings. NNadi is good but has only 6 offers and ranked #36

Personally I say screw all these rankings and ratings, as long as our staff feels they're good then that is all I care about. The coaches have done a pretty good job evaluating talent and especially evaluating talent for our offensive and defensive systems historically so I'll stick with their recruiting.
