Probably check out both but doesn't have a Hokie offer yet. I'm telling ya 2013 we might have to fight tooth and nail to keep the top talent in-state.

From all I have read about Virginia Tech has a couple locks in the 2013 class already... Stefon Colbert, Micheal Parker, Kendall Fuller, Jabo Lee, Brandon Facyson, Dj Reid, Holland Fisher and a couple GS players including Thomas Smith who seems to be lighting up the stat sheets this year... Is virginia tech really that much in need of players from the state of Virginia (other than Bucky) when you have so many players that already are so high on tech this early in the process ??... maybe not Facyson but he has one small school offer so as of now Ill just assume tech is the favorite in that case....

IMO the state is loaded with talent next year. More so than usual.

We all know about the top flight of quarterbacks most of which we may not recruit/fit our type of system (Burns, Hackenberg, Speight). I think we may have a shot with Hodges. Levenberry, Allen, and Green seem to have early tendencies to go OOS...who do you think we have a shot at at this point in VA VTFF??? I would think if we end up with Caleb, Fisher might be a lean. Harris, Parker, Clark and obviously Goins seem like we might have an opportunity to land those guys at least. I feel like Hodges may be the only top 5 guy in virginia we might have a real chance at this early..

Don't believe we even have an edge over the competition for Bucky. I am excited for Holland Fisher. Don't know how he will get rated but he is a very strong 4 star IMO and an awesome, awesome, LB.

For some reason he has "Cool" listed for all of his schools. Maybe he's not playing football in college?:caked:

So KickerMom, how was your trip? :)

It was unbelievable! We had no idea all that we would experience. We first went to the recruiting center to get our tickets which is all I thought we were doing. To our great surprise we were taken into Newsome's office and talked with him for a bit and saw some of the other coaches. Then we went to eat in some big room in the recruiting center. There they gave Dillon a pre/post game sideline pass. We were taken down to the field thru the tunnel behind the players and Dillon touched the "stone". I couldn't reach it...LOL. The we got to stand on the sidelines for about 30 minutes and watch the team warm up. They came and got Dillon and took him out onto the middle of the field to personally meet Beamer! Wow what a privilege! Then they took us to our seats which were on the 2nd row about the 25 yard line, right in front of the kicker's net where they warm up. How awesome it was for Dillon to be able to have that view of what it would be like to kick for VA Tech. The atmosphere was electric and the whole game was amazing. All the fans and just being so close to all the players was incredible. After the game Dillon got to go into the locker room for the "after the game speech". He was so amazed at all that he was allowed to experience. It was freezing but it was worth being cold!! All I can say is that it was surreal and something we will never forget! If this was an unofficial visit I can't imagine what an official visit would entail that could top this experience.

Have they talked about offering yet or do they still want to see how everything shakes out? Glad you enjoyed your visit!

Glad you had a good time! I can only assume that it has taken the past 3 days for your fingers to thaw and that's why you responded today

There were lots of kids in that room. I'd say at least 40. I don't know who any of them were though. I do know they only took 5 individually to meet Beamer! To Chrish1023 - I was just too busy to get on...Dillon had ring dance on Friday night then a select soccer game in Richmond on Saturday and another soccer game on sunday (his last game). He had two beautiful free kicks outside the 18 that he made and they won 3 to 2 and beat the first place team. I know he will miss soccer but football is his future. As far as an offer, nothing official. Mr. Newsome made it clear they are very interested and will be in regular contact with Dillon after VA Tech's season is over. He ask me to get him a higlight tape as soon as possible. I'm working on that!

Great to hear that you all had an awesome experience! Even more stoked that Newsome asked for a highlight tape!
