Unless he has a absolutely FANTASTIC year and progresses even further by leaps and bounds, I wouldn't expect LT to go in the 1st round next year. USC-w and Barkley has already pretty well locked up the top spot at QB and L. Jones, T. Wilson, T. Bray, and are all very much on the radar. Looking at right now, if he stays an extra year and has 2 VERY good seasons and mature as a QB, he has a chance to be the top QB taken. But....a NC/Heisman campaign and a Cam Newton like season could change all that..

LT is better than him at this point in time. I watched him play some and he was very inconsistent. L. Jones was not too hot last year either.

WmsbgHokieFan, if you can't PM me, DM me on twitter. What is your handle there?

I'm working on getting a handle there asap. I've just mainly been reading certain hokie handles there for a while. I actually tried to set a handle up recently until I realized my wife used my email to set up a handle for her Yoga business. I'm working on getting all of that straight. I should have a handle there soon, and I'll DM you there. Thanks

Remember LT had a much better team around him. I like Tyler Bray a lot and I'm no means a Tenn fan. He's been projected fairly high already

The first time i saw him he was playing UNC in the music city bowl. he was taunting UNC like crazy (running his thumb across his throat) whenever he made a good play and then when they lost (i think he threw a key int) they showed him crying on the sideline. He was acting like a huge punk when they were on top and then cried like a kid when it went downhill. Top prospects need to be level headed, not to high and not too low. Look at Luck. No respect for Bray at all after those shenanigans either.

I agree, but I am just going with what the pundits are saying. Fundamentally, Bray is probably a more prototypical NFL QB, and has been groomed that way from early on. When all is said and done I do think LT is better and that he very well may be a better NFL QB. Bray has good size, a good arm, and of course it doesnt hurt that he is a SEC QB. As far as Jones, I agree there too, but unless he has a really down year I don't see him slipping past the 3 QB overall. You never know, LT could be in the conversation come next December..that's very possible. Talent and upside alone would probably make him a second/third rounder. I think alot of him possibly being in the terms of draft position depends on how accurate he is this year, and if he progresses in terms of reading defenses, making really good decisions etc.

I remember commenting to some of my UT friends about his character after what he showed during the game, and they all agreed that he was too immature during the game but might grow into a leader after being humbled by losing the Music City Bowl. I'm thinking that he acted that way pretty much all season, but I could be wrong. Either way, I agree with you 100% in that I lost some respect for him (he is a teenager after all...most of us were cocky punks at that age) but lost even more for the coaching staff. Beamer and Co. would not be willing to put up with that kind of attitude for sure.

Yeah I think that's on Dooley. I've heard he's a huge puss and just lets his 'star' players pull whatever shit they want.

I HOPE I'm wrong but I have a bad (good for him) feeling that, barring injury, LT's next season with us will be his last. I'd say it's 50/50 at best/worst. All of the focus will be on him with DW4 gone. He improved leaps and bounds in his first season as a starter. He has the athletic ability. Another season of him killing it and another season of Cam Newton killing it --- and he's gone. Barkley and Jones BOTH did us a huge favor by staying as they're both farther along than LT (unless we're playing one of those teams next January ;) ). I just have a bad feeling but he's a smart kid and shouldn't get beaten up like a RB.

As far as Bucky goes -- the next coming of God (Chad Kelly) has committed to Clemson -- so I'm not sure if he wants to sit the pine that long.

Do enjoy his rap (press play down in the article) .. It's the shiz just like Chad Kelly

Wow...I hope he does eventually start so someone from our Defense can level him. What an attitude...it's actually a little embarrassing for multiple parties (coaches, teammates, parents-maybe) I would imagine.

Kelly tweeted Wednesday, "Your on the bench for a reason. And i come soon! Just letting you know."

Stoudt decided to respond anyway, "I hate those that talk like their the [expletive] when they haven't done anything yet."

No word on whether either is an English major

OL evaluation seems like it is the most difficult out of high school. A lot that Rivals and others seem to base their rankings on are strength and size numbers. So we see 4-stars like Painter who are physical freaks but haven't been able to put it on the field. However, we also get 2-stars and 3-stars that we put in the weight room for 3 years and they are ready to go. I've learned to not look at star ratings of O-line. Aside from the top top OL, we really don't know how good a player will be until their r-So year usually.

OL development is definitely the most difficult thing for our staff.

FYI, 200,000 is the goal for this thread....250,000 would be spectacular though.

Considering the way this place has grown and continues to grow, plus the fact that this thread was started 6 months earlier, i think it will be spectacular.
