DT jarron jones fully decommitted from penn state today. hes a rivals 100 DT, and we are in his top 7. seems like we have a solid shot. we could use a DT like him, 6'5" 308 lbs

He is ND bound.

He "loves" ND. He is supposed to be at a game this fall but he is completely enamored with ND.

Shane's on him for Tech which may give us a pretty good shot.

Also, Jones is looking for a small-town environment, and Blacksburg (pop. 43,000) may fill the bill for a kid from Rochester, NY (pop. 210,000). South Bend has more than twice the population as Blacksburg.

The distance is about even:

Rochester to South Bend = 514 miles
Rochester to Blacksburg = 579 miles

if we can get jones in for a visit i really like our chances. IMO day has been relatively quiet in regards to VT, but it wouldnt surprise me if we start to gain some ground once the season starts.

Not too surprising. Never thought we had the best shot with him. Still believe we get 2-3 more OL's that aren't listed with VT offers quite yet. We should learn more after the weekend.

Yeah i had heard that there were a couple of guys that were real close to offers after the last camp, but (as has been stated many times) the staff wanted to wait 'til after this camp and evaluate the group as a whole. Im expecting 4 +/- OL offers after camp, and hopeful for a couple quick commits.

Know any of the lineman who are attending the camp??? i only know of Jonathan McLaughlin...6' 4" 288 from south carolina...i expect him to pick up an offer from us! has offers from ECU, wake forest, marshall and a couple other small schools

Out of the 12 offers Tech has extended to OLs to date, 9 have given verbals to the schools of their choice, while 3 are still available. Tech has landed 1 OL (Willenbrock) to date:

**I doubt we get any of the OLs above. This weekend's camp should allow us to bring a couple of additional solid OLs who will probably have, or earn, a 3 star Rivals player ranking. The 2011 season will probably allow us to pull in one more OL, possibly as a greyshirt.
