The personnel is built for a 4-3. They can run a base 4-3 and some simple variations of it. One things for sure, we've thankfully probably seen the last of dropping 290 lb linemen into pass coverage. There's no way you can change the scheme midseason, so I'm guessing they'll simplify it greatly. Glad VanGorder is gone, but either way, defense is going to struggle until we get a new scheme in place.
Screw it make the change. What matters. They have a bye week after stanford game. There's no way you can change the scheme midseason, so I'm guessing they'll simplify it greatly. Glad VanGorder is gone, but either way, defense is going to struggle until we get a new scheme in place.
Word is, this wasn't Kelly's call. Swarbrick forced this move which speaks terribly of Brian Kelly.Yessss this made my day. I thought he would wait until monday.
Kelly needed to do this. He would of lost a lot of respect if he didn't.
That's not really what he said though. He didn't praise the defensive Performance. He said that from a coaching standpoint they did what they wanted.I do want to point something out: Kelly can't praise the D and says he was happy about their play and the next day fire the coach. Now don't get me wrong this needed to be done. It should of been done after last year. I think Kelly is a reaction coach meaning he reacts right away and then when he take a day to think about it he changes his stance. He can't be like that. It makes him look foolish. He needs to learn from this.
Did you end up deleting the game recording?Made my day.
Love it
I've been hearing that Brian Kelly actually was the one who fired VG? Idk media can be troubling these days.Word is, this wasn't Kelly's call. Swarbrick forced this move which speaks terribly of Brian Kelly.

I don't think it is... I mean maybe but all the news articles I am seeing is titled with "Kelly fires DC" Again, could just be media rewriting things.I hope that's not true.
