No more double BC for us! Would have preferred Maryland now that they're correctly seperated from Duke, but I hate Miami so it works for me. Plus, we and Miami will always be linked by the old guard as the end of the ACC. Other good rivalries like NC State vs UNC are preserved.

My guess would be either UNC or Duke said no.

I guarantee you Swofford bent over and let Notre Dame decide who they wanted to play twice and then went from there. Notre Dame said give me your two largest markets....BC and GT.

I see more value to ND in playing Pitt than GT, but I could be wrong there. If ND wasn't happy with Pitt, you could shift the top around like this:

Boston College - Notre Dame and Syracuse

Syracuse - Boston College and Notre Dame

Maryland - Pitt and Virginia
Pitt - Maryland and Virginia Tech
Virginia - Maryland and Virginia Tech
Virginia Tech - Pitt and Virginia

Neither way affects UNC or Duke's pairings. If they objected, which is certainly possible, I'd like to know what their reasons were.
