Kickoff time and television arrangements for two more early-season UW football games were announced today as the Pac-12 Conference unveiled the schedule for the first three weeks of the 2014 season.

Washington's home opener Sept. 6 vs. Eastern Washington will get underway at 12:00 noon PT and air live on the Pac-12 Networks.

The following Saturday, Sept. 13 vs. Illinois, the Huskies will kick at 1:00 p.m. PT, with the game airing on FOX television.

The start time of the Huskies' season opener at Hawai'i on Aug. 30 had already been determined by the Mountain West Conference. That game will kick off at 5:00 p.m. PT/2:00 p.m. HT and will be broadcast on CBS Sports Network.

I'm so close to convincing the wife that a return trip to Hawaii this year would be so fantastic, I got no coaching duties, and she hasn't looked at the Dawgs schedule yet, now if I could convince her Maui is out this trip and we need to see the University of Hawaii????

My parents and brothers all still live on Oahu where I grew up. I'm flying out to visit them and go to the game. I've had this game penciled in for years. No brainer. I'm there. ALOHA!!!!

Heads up. Everyone might want to check their home tv channel availability because sometimes CBS sports channel is not part of the standard cable package. It used to part of an extra sports channel package you'd have to pay extra for with comcast, at least here in Bellevue. But over the past year or so, it's now coming standard with my cable.

If not, check the sports bars you frequent. They'll probably have it via satellite.

Trust me. Game tickets won't be a problem if you head over there. UofH has a massive bandwagon fanbase. With them sucking right now, every game has thousands of open prime seats that go unsold.

I figured there would be walk up tickets available, I'm sure the Dawgs will have a ton of fans there, its a great destination and school is still out so family vacations were planned around this date....

That's what the stands look like these days for UH games. Tickets will be easy to get. I'm sure plenty of Dawgs will come for the game so should be plenty of purple around. But still, tickets won't be a problem at all.

Nebraska is a good place for him. They don't have any professional teams for him to beat up on their fans.

Well I will keep an eye on that situation, if the dumbass pans out to be a huge get for the Cornholes it's only gonna piss me off more of what could've been here...

UW has great depth at WR going into 2014. Especially with Kasen Williams coming back.

Williams (SR)
Mickens
Ross
Campbell (SR)

I expect a lot of production from them this year

Plus we got a nice looking crew of TEs.

It's a shame Stringfellow is finished with the Huskies under these circumstances, but it is what it is. Just got to move on from it. Nebraska might be a good fit for him given his situation, but their offense hasn't exactly lit up the college world lately.

That being said, Stringfellow at his height was a legit #1 WO prospect. I'd like to see the Huskies land 1 to 2 WR's who are over 6'0" for the 2015 class. With Campbell and Williams leaving this year as SRs, we need to get some height injected back on the roster.

Wow. This weekend was insane for Budda Baker in his final track and field competition as a senior at Bellevue High.

He won the 100m and 200m races. Took 2nd in the long jump. Ran the second leg of the 4x100 which they won. Max Richmond ran the last leg for them and he's joining the UW football team as a preferred walk on as well.

Can't wait to see this guys suit up as Dawgs and keeping the Bellevue High pipeline alive and well.

Huge get for Romar and the UW basketball team.

SG DeJounte Murray announces he will be committing to UW. He's another of the "Big 3" from Rainier Beach high. He had offers from Gonzaga and Oregon.

PG David Crisp from Rainier is already committed to UW. So Romar nailed 2 out of the 3 from there which is excellent.

I love watching this kid play football, always around the ball, commands double teams hell even some have had three blockers on him, it's nice to see he's getting some press about his play...

Chris Petersen: "You're either all in or you're not."

coachingsearch.com - Super Bowl winning coach Mike Holmgren was a studio guest with Softy Mahler at Seattle’s KJR Radio 950 earlier this week and Holmgren asked Chris Petersen about the process of implementing his philosophies since accepting the head coaching job at Washington.

Holmgren noted that he always experiences some level of pushback from NFL players who doubted certain aspects of Holmgren’s style and way of thinking.

Petersen stated, “I think the thing that we all kind of learned here is that maybe eye-opening and challenging and energizing is how you have your way of doing things. You have your way of lifting weights. You have your way of doing academics. You have your way of recruiting. You have your way of treating kids. You have your way of practicing. You kind of assume that everybody kind of does it the same way. Not right or wrong because we’re coming into a situation where these kids did a good job. Some of these kids came in when they didn’t win much and they really did a great job last year.

“And so you have your way and every little detail matters and all of those details add to being this is quite a bit different than it was before. And it takes everybody to get on the same page, first and foremost. And then most importantly for everyone to buy in – this is what we’re going to do -- because there is no gray area in the buy-in. If you’re deciding ‘Yeah, I’m kind of in. I kind of agree with 80% of this,” [then] you’re out. You’re either all in or you’re not. You’re making a choice by kind of being in. No, you’re out. So that’s what we’ve kind of had to work through here.”

Petersen fortunately filled out his coaching staff with eight assistants that previously coached under Petersen at Boise State. Thus, he drastically reduced any time spent on getting the coaches on the same page.

The Huskies open the season with four non-conference games against Hawaii (in Honolulu), Eastern Washington Illinois, and Georgia State. In week five, the Huskies host Stanford.
