I never missed a Georgia game, and if it was raining outside I'd watch the other big matchups of the day. The Texas-USC game was the first National Championship game I watched.

This is why vacating seasons is stupid. It doesn't really accomplish anything and has the potential unintended consequence of affecting other teams as well.

I mean, does Texas still get to count that NC even though, according to the NCAA, the game never happened because they beat a team that didn't actually play any games that season? Joking about that of course, but it just looks silly that you have Texas winning an NC against a team that officially played no games that season.

If they want to say a team that used an ineligible player has to forfeit all games that the player participated in, that actually accomplishes something.

YEP!! Even I was thinking "WTF?" when I saw that on ESPN yesterday. The NCAA's reasoning, although technically correct according to THEIR rules I guess, is still weird.

But, just as well we lost that game vs Texas, as we would have had to vacate that game too.

But USC had to vacate that previous BCS Championship game vs Oklahoma from the "records". AND we ALL know who REALLY won that game!

I have both games on DVD. Every time I put one in to watch it, I think "I wonder if the NCAA knows I have these"? I keep expecting them to be blank or some NCAA security personnel to show up on my doorstep to confiscate them.

Texas is now currently 1-0.

It was discovered that several people on our defense behaved very badly during the Maryland game.

Therefore Texas has decided to vacate that loss.
