Urgent warning for PS3 users

Do NOT take the 4.31 firmware update. it totally fucked my PS3 and my buddies. I was finally able to get it to read my network, but now it won't load Borderlands 2. I read on their forum where this happens to a lot of people and Sony claims the 4.31 is not a required update.

Sony details PlayStation 3 Firmware 4.31 - National Video Game | Examiner.com

Sony Computer Entertainment announced on Monday afternoon that they will release a new firmware update for the PlayStation 3 with Firmware 4.31.

The company shared that PlayStation 3 firmware update 4.31 will be released during the evening hours of Monday, October 29.

When the minor update goes live, online play and access to other PlayStation applications will not be affected. Additionally, there will be no PlayStation Network maintenance during the release of the PlayStation 3 system update.

Sony Computer Entertainment shared:

This is not a mandatory update. However, we suggest you keep your systems updated with the latest firmware, as these updates further improve overall system stability and help provide you with the best online entertainment experience possible.

As the Sony stated, this update is optional, however, they do recommend you update your PS3 to the new PS3 firmware for greater system stability.

Firmware 4.31 will address issues concerning “Monster Hunter Portable 3rd HD”, according to Sony -- though the title is only available in Japan.

Expect the new firmware to live in the next several hours.

I just realized that since I updated last week, I haven't been able to stream anything through my PS3 because the update fucked it up. Sony better fix this in the next one or I'll be fucking pissed.

I'll have to remember this. Can you actually skip the update? I thought it was something that you had to do.

This update is optional. I updated with 4.30 but have yet to do 4.31. 4.30 is what caused the streaming video to not work. Also, I just noticed that my trophy collection is completely gone.
