I just don't see how Michigan State can be ranked #2 in the AP and #3 in the coaches poll, have a better W/L record and still fall behind so many teams. IMO the worst thing you can say about them is they didn't win their conference, if the committee really cared about that. But then how could you justify putting Oklahoma ahead of them.

I keep hearing people who supposedly know what they're talking about saying it, but I just don't understand the logic behind it.

The W/L is literally the only thing MSU has in favor of Oklahoma. And it's only 1 win. But how much of that can be contributed to the strength of schedule? MSU's SOS is 84, OU's is 21. Oklahoma has more top 25/top 50/top 100 wins, and no losses outside the top 100.

I wouldn't read to much into the AP/Coaches Poll. They've proven to be pretty meaningless when it comes to trying to project seeds.

It's tough seeding a Big 12 team on the 4 line w/Kansas and OU being #1 seeds, and with Texas being a 5 seed in the other region. I know it's a regular season match up, but, I think the committee tries to avoid conference match ups(unless there's a conference with ELEVEN teams that make it) lol.

I honestly don't think there is. Kansas has the South Regional already locked up, given their location to Louisville(slightly closer to L'Ville than Chicago(Midwest)). The other contenders for the East #1's and #2's would be UNC, UVA, Miami, Duke, but with them knocking each other off in the ACC Tournament there's no way all of them can play up to the #1 or #2 line. MSU's and OU's preferred locations would be Chicago(Midwest) as well.

I wonder though if for instance if UNC wins the ACC Tournament, Nova loses early in the Big East Tournament, if the committee will give UNC the #1 in the East, but STILL think Nova is #1 seed quality and ships them to Chicago or Anaheim.

I would rather have been a 2 or 3 seed in the East. We play markedly better when we're not the top dog.

I think getting to the Finals is the only way Iowa has a chance to be in Des Moines. That might not even be enough though, since Iowa will be up against Indiana for that spot.

Yeah, and it might even take that. Also, root against Indiana, Kentucky and Wisconsin to lose early in their tournaments. They are all candidates for Des Moines.
