If you're not wanting them to watch the halftime show then I assume they're within that "impressionable age" lol. I have 2 younglings, both boys. Eldest is 3. I'm a long ways away from that impressionable age thankfully. Feel free to provide me with some tips & guidance! lol

Daughters are 8 and 3. Son is 10.

My advice is cliche. Appreciate every fucking minute, even if you can't enjoy every one, and ENGAGE. The time goes by so fast it's incredible.

I hear that. Feels like it was only last year that my first was born... Now the kid is walking, talking, bossing, and eating me out of my house & home. I fear I'm only a month or 2 away from the 2nd son walking.

5 year age difference between my 2 daughters as well. Worked great. No fighting at all between them. 5 years is enough so that there isn't competition for stuff.

Are they as rebellious by nature as their dear ol dad?

In a few ways, yes...but in so many other ways, they are a disappointment

You teaching how to drive, yet?!?! That's some nerve wracking shit right there...

NOOOOooooooo...when the time comes, we will use a driving school, which I believe you have to use in NYC in order to pass the test. Also, the age requirements here are different from the rest of the state, and you can't really get a full license until 18. My daughter has said she doesn't really want to learn anyway, because she can take the train, but still she jokes with us all the time that we're supposed to buy her a car for her 16th

Tip:
Make them learn on a manual. They get a bit more understanding of how a car works. They can't just step on the gas and go. They will typically drive slower. Much harder to text. Both my daughters learned with a manual. Both of their cars are still manual. They are 22 and 17. They always got a kick out of their friends, boys and girls, who would be impressed that they drove a stick.

Every car I had from 16 to 39 years old was a stick shift. In high school, my friends, boys and girls, were always impressed that I could roll a joint while driving stick.

That is why a hash pipe was always my choice.

This may be the ultimate boomer take, but I for one won't be watching the Super Bowl Halftime Show. I have absolutely no interest in seeing Jennifer Lopez or Shakira. I think I'll go out back for 20 minutes and try to call a coyote in.

What y'all going to be doing for halftime?

Agreed.

It's pathetic what the NFL has been marching out there for the past 25 years under the guise of music/entertainment.

IMHO, the last decent halftime show was in 2010 when The Who performed.

If we're at home watching the SB, we'll do what we've done in the past during halftime....grab some more snacks, and watch some of the Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet channel instead. If we're at a bar, it's usually a good time to hit the restroom.
