So right now, barring cuts or resigning, we are projected to have $62.96 million in cap space.

If we make the three cuts Im projecting, we will be at $74.71M in cap space.

Mind you I think the real numbers will be closer to $71M before cuts and $84.5M if we cut the three people I expect.

So if we screw this up... it wont be about money.

Nope. We have to money to sign KC, Garcon, DJax, Baker, Davis and still have 30+M to go after some good FAs. Those that are arguing over if KC should be signed for $20, or 22 or 24M just dont get it. Money isn't the issue.

Not for nothing, but if we do it my way, We resign Kirk, Baker, Jackson, Garcon, Davis, Hood(Just to keep Dean happy), Nsexy, Galette.... and still have around $45M to work with.

Not sure 45 million is enough to address that defense. Some of the players we need will need at least 9-10 per year probably. We just have too many holes at this point.

45 mil plus draft picks isn't bad. I'm not sure we're gonna turn into the 85 bears in one year anyways but I think we could make some nice improvements.

Norman cost us $8 million against the cap in 2016 on a $75M contract. The Giants gave out $200M in new money last year and have $31 million in cap space for 2017.

$45M plus the draft, if we dont improve our defense.... its because our Defensive Coordinator is the worst DC in the history of.... OH wait... nevermind.

We don't need to force a fix on every perceived hole this offseason. Get a starting quality defensive lineman, a starting quality ILB, and perhaps Leary. Then draft well.

I'd like to see how we view two DTs -- Dontari Poe and Bennie Logan. Both come from teams with limited cap space to re-sign either. If we get one of them and pair him up with a stud DT draft choice, and re-sign Baker, that might be the beginning of a pretty good d-line.

Also, because the Eagles are short on the cap, not sure how they'll have enough to re-sign D-Jax. They can, of course, restructure and cut people, but that would take quite a bit doing and create holes they didn't have previously.

We have to address the safety position as well. We haven't been comfortable at safety since Taylor and Landry were back there. I hope Cravens takes over at SS so I would we hope we draft a FS with a high pick or bring in one for free agency.

I agree with your assessment except that I honestly think we need to bring in 2 starting defensive lineman via free agency.

One free agent, one in the draft.

IM hoping we draft a D-lineman and a FS early, but I got a slight fear we draft a WR, and then a D-lineman.

If we draft/sign the right NT, FS, & ILB....we could be a consistent 10 win team starting as early as next year.
There are also a ton of good offensive linemen that could start for us in a year or who could be converted to C.

I'm not sold on Cravens at SS. On a team lacking team speed on defense something tells me a half linebacker is not real fast.

so you are asking 3 rookies to come in and perform right away ? i can see the 1st rounder , the 2nd rounder could be borderline but expecting a 3rd rounder to be a ist year starter is asking alot

Does your draft include a starting FS?

2017 NFL Draft First-Round Mock Draft | The MMQB with Peter King

LOL - P. King has the Redskins drafting a WR with their 1st pick. No worries - these mocks don't mean shit - just wait & see what happens.

We have no odea what we have in Doctson, if we lose Jackson and Garcon..... IM thinking WR might e the move in the first round. Now as the D-line seems to be falling out of favor aside from one or two really high forst rounders, And as the position should generally be easier to find (D-line), it would not shock me at all to see us grab a WR and see whats available in the 2nd/3rd round.

But i shit you not... if we wait till the 5th round to take another project D-lineman.... you might have to restrain me from going to the yearly look what we got post draft party at FedEx.

I like Jamal adams from lsu from what little I've seen/heard of him. Even saw somebody compare him to sean Taylor a little which is impressive.

Well at least Dan Snyder would be happy having a bunch of us and that crowd with axes, torches and pitchforks in tow ready to rip the place apart! (He gets his new stadium)

Actually just one, that being the safety. If we were to hit on a safety, I believe it would help our pass rush.
Whitner, somehow must have beaten out the other healthy options. But he proved he was ineffective at the L.O.S and in single high.

I mentioned drafting and signing a FA. I'd like to think our 3-4 run defense would actually improve with an above average NT. Brandon Williams, Hankins or Poe could have a similar effect that Harrison had in NY. There was a lot
of bashing going on for NY spending all that money on a 2-down NT and a lazy CB in Jenkins. But we see how that worked out.

Our ILBs are OK, but a 1st or 2nd rounder at the position could also be a HUGE help
