Who are some players in the NFL who just get absolutely no love? And let's leave QBs out of this because every QB gets analyzed to death.
And I'm not talking about guys everyone knows are great. Like JJ Watt is not underrated; he's rated pretty accurately. If a player is all-pro' he still might not even be appreciated as much as he should be, but it's probably not to the extent of a guy whose name you don't even know and plays pretty well.
I'll give an example from the 49ers: Dan Skuta. He's an OLB the Niners picked up a couple of years ago for around the minimum (from Arizona). He filled in for Aldon Smith when he was suspended & injued the last couple of years, and he's actually been a pretty good player. He's not all-pro' by any stretch of the imagination, but he might get some decent money in free agency this offseason based on his performance.
I'll add another one: EJ Gaines from the Rams. He's a rookie CB drafted in the 6th round (I wanted him on the Niners like hungry dog wants a treat you're dangling in his face
), and he's been playing like an above-average starter this year IMO. However, I don't think a lot of people have noticed.
Who are some unsung heroes on your team or other ones?
