Kansas had a close call at home versus an unranked team and they moved up in the polls. Anyone else thought that was strange?
Furman just seems to not be stopping their winning ways. I do think they lose to LSU, however. But 12-0 for a team from the Southern conference that won 23 games last year is great, in my opinion. 2 OOC games left, let's say they beat UNCW and lost to LSU, if they play their conference schedule the same way they did last year, they will finish the regular season at 25-6. Most wins in at least a decade (that's as far as I have time to go back right now lol).
Next week, Buffalo has a tough stretch. Syracuse and Marquette. #25 and #21.
What's funny is LSU has two out of their next 3 games are against undefeated teams. First, they play Houston tonight, then they play Furman next Friday. They will have a great chance to beat Houston and move into the top 25.
Saturday has a bunch of good games. Nova vs. KU, Indiana vs. Butler, Zaga vs. UNC, Cincy vs. Miss St.
For Furman to have a realistic chance of being an at large, assuming a loss to LSU, I think they can only afford 2/3 losses in conference play.
I agree with that.
The So Con is really good this year with 5 teams currently in the top 100 of NET. Furman, Wofford, UNCG, ETSU and Samford are all really good teams IMO. Really good relative to what the So Con usually is.
Last year, they only had 4 teams with a winning overall record. Seems like it's gonna be a good conference to keep an eye on this year. I think the last time the conference had a team ranked was when Davidson was in the conference.
LSU isn’t looking great. Can’t close out games. It is beyond difficult to watch leads against Florida State and Houston evaporate and turn into losses. With all that recruiting talent, LSU is still just a big bowl of hype.Furman just seems to not be stopping their winning ways. I do think they lose to LSU, however. Abilene Christian (9-1) on SaturdayI think we make it to Duke with a bagel in the L column, and then find out if we are anything to watch out for.
Then a tough start to conference play with WVU and UT.. We NEVER win in Austin, not even last year with out best team ever.
No disrespect to Houston, because I think they are a great program and think highly of them... but if you can’t go into that arena and beat Houston with the lead, how do you go on the road and beat Tennessee, Kentucky, Florida?Really sucks because I think LSU is a talented team, in my opinion. Just can't close out close games against good teams. I fear for them playing their conference schedule.

NBA? These guys aren’t playing Develepmental league quality at the moment. And if I hear a commentator say Skylar freaking Mays is our best player in a broadcast I will lose it. Kid isn’t even a quality starter. It's always been that way for LSU.
They can recruit 5 stars, but they have their eye on the NBA, and you get a bunch of inconsistency and general poor team basketball...
To be fair Houston is probably better than Florida and may slso be better right now than KentuckyNo disrespect to Houston, because I think they are a great program and think highly of them... but if you can’t go into that arena and beat Houston with the lead, how do you go on the road and beat Tennessee, Kentucky, Florida?

I'm predicting this is the week we lose alot of unbeaten teams. I think Texas Tech, Buffalo and Furman all lose this week. Could also see St. Johns losing to St. Francis on Wednesday, but not confident enough to state that as my opinion lol.
