Lots of Det love, I just dont see it.

Well I look at it like this I wouldn't trust Luongo to win a big game if my life depended on it. I don't think the Penguins have any wingers whatsoever. Washington will outscore a lot of teams but, their defensive issues will be exposed once again in the playoffs.

Philly vs Detroit just makes the most sense to me.

I just thing Det isnt getting any younger and injuries killed them last year. I see no reason to believe they will be healthy the entire season. I guess I see the Sharks as a better choice

I also see the east as a crap shoot, tons of changes but certain teams have others #s

Pens own Philly
Philly owns NJ
Wash owns themselves come playoff time.

I will predict that I will be upset with anything less than the Cup. I don't always pick the Wings, but I am this year. I've tried to back up and look at it from an outside view, and I still see the same.
I have totally agreed with every transaction so far. One more hard choice to make with Miller/Ritola, but that's the way the cookie crumbles. (survived the Thomas Fleishmann thing, didn't we?)
Maybe our top 6 (yes, a bonafide top 6!) might not be the best in the league (I think they are close if not), but they are the best fit that this team has had in awhile.
Don't even get me started on the forwards. Make all the jokes you want about his age, but when Mike Modano is on your 3rd line, you're depth is probably pretty good. I saw him play a lot last year. Including his last home game, I know ya'll saw that. How pumped do you think that man is right now?
Hudler back in the mix as well. Val Fil is starting to keep the puck on a string and make plays like he has learned a thing or two from Pavel.

:eek:I JUST HOPE WE ALL STAY HEALTHY:eek:

Esp. Z's Back and Johan's knee. Probably said that a million times this summer!
The Mule is due for one giant season. I can feel it.

PS - Nightmare on Helm Street. Nuff said.

Def no biased here...

Well that fact that I think those will be the four best defensive teams who will also be able to produce goals may have influenced my decision.

Thinking the Flyers aren't capable of getting back to where they were this year based on them being the same conference as the Caps and Pens is plain ridiculous. Both the Caps and Pens blew up in the post season due to their lack of depth imo. Yes the Pens(and maybe even Caps) have better goaltending and can both put goals on the board but when they match up against a team who plays a solid defensive system they seem to choke when it matters most.

Also the caps really haven't done anything to make themselves better and the Pens may have upgraded their D a bit but they also lost their PP quarter back and still have no decent wings to play with all their centers.

Oh and I expect the Bruins to be a really solid team both ways this year.

So the Pens choke when it matters most? You need to take a glance at a season prior to last season. The Flyers caught some breaks and had a good run but they are not even close to being favorites anyone considering it should be called a homer.

*These predictions are just staright up. IN the season injuries and momentum along with other things can factor in to a teams play. (Just saying :))

Despite my hatred for them Pens-Bruins/Flyers

(Hand me the soap, but the Penis are a better team then the Flyers, but the Flyers can still beat them.)

Then Nucks-Wings

Nucks-Pens

I dont know who takes the Silver

I could say go back 3 seasons ago when they choked against Detroit. Hell even 2 season ago they barely squeeked by both the FLyers and Caps in route to the cup, meaning it wasn't like they were a dominate team then either. Did you notice(and it pains me to no end to say this) but the only Pen who showed up night in and out for them in the playoffs was princess Crosby?

And when did the Flyers catch breaks in the post season? They dominated the Devils, came back from being down 0-3 to make history against the Bruins and easily handled the Habs before facing the deepest team in the NHL being the Hawks. Oh yea and the whole time the did it with key guys constantly going down(every goalie to wear orange and black this year, Gags, Lappy, Carts). The Hawks had the edge this year I'm not even going to argue that. They were rolling 4 lines against the Flyers 3, and having a slight edge in goal tending helped them win the cup.

You can call me a Homer(kinda like pot meet kettle there) if you want, that's completely fine. I am curious tho can you even name you're top line pre-lockout? Or did you run out and buy a pink Cindy jersey when you're bankrupt team won the lottery?

I am sure every Pens fan has been called a bandwagon fan which is fine by me, prior to the lockout I am not sure we had a top line. I know our team scoring leader was Dick Tarnstrom and prior to all the ridiculous trades and player sales our top line was the KLS line. Kovy Lange Straka.
