No, wasn't ripping Dana, I just remember how depleted our roster was after the coaching change because of Stews recruiting woes. I was complimenting Dana, that's a bunch of loses to overcome to get to 10 wins just 2 years later regardless if the conference was down or not, we looked a lot worse in '12/'13.

Again, I think it is testament to the job Dana has done building depth. Some fans on here have complained about getting JUCO players. But, when facing critical shortages at certain positions... they can be a program saver.

The problem with Stewart is that he inherited a depleted roster, but did not do everything he could to get his numbers up. Playing in the BE, one could understand his lack of urgency in doing so. We've all been witness to how important it is to have depth in the Big 12. Quality depth...

What program in the country isn't on the Juco train right now?...With non-qualifiers, sprinkle in busts, transfers and kids that leave early you have to tap into it these days..EVEN BILLY STEWART tapped into it...see Bruce Irvin...

I would wager Baylor needs to find a few right now..........Colorado is in there...you would probably be shocked how many Bama has...maybe not as many as the hillbillies but with the number of kids leaving early down there they have to find a few for depth..

Speaking of JUCO's its been a crazy 2 days for us with those guys. Got some NICE looking prospects at key positions and did yall hear about David Sills coming back?

Davis Sills, WR, 6-4, 210

Size man, and Sills showed flashes when he changed positions last year. This could work out fine.

I think I read somewhere that Mississippi State signed like 9 JUCO guys. I think we are about par for the course all things considered.

2017 Football Recruiting Commits

According to this site, MSU has 9 commits. TT had 8.

As I suspected, very few P5 schools go the JUCO route as deeply as WVU. Thankfully, Dana has made some positive inroads with several JUCO programs. It has definitely helped develop quality depth.

It's a good thing, a better thing if he were to actually win it but still, a good thing.

Nice to be able to tell a recruit that a COTY winner/finalist is on the phone wanting to talk to them because he just sent another player to the pros and has an opening..

Dana is making strides and had a good year and I'm glad that he Finally Showed that he could win more than 7 games but let's not go crazy here, he ain't on Doc and TB's level just yet.
