UCLA wins in Lincoln on September 14

Prior to the first game, I was Mr. Confident Nebraska fan. Not anymore.

UCLA has two freshmen come in and make an immediate impact on the team and the game, Vanderdoes and Jack. Plus, they pounded on Nevada. Nevada and Wyoming are both Mountain West teams and Nevada beat Wyoming last year.

Meanwhile, Nebraska has freshmen playing and Papuchis is clueless on how to stop a 4-8 Wyoming team. Nebraska struggles to a victory.

UCLA new running back star James will be a Heisman candidate and Hundley will quite possibly go into the top 5 Heisman candidates after his performance in Lincoln.

Nebraska has a chance to correct the mistakes with a game against Southern Miss(but won't), UCLA is resting and learning from the Wyoming game tape and then the Southern Miss game tape. My guess, the UCLA team meetings will involve a lot of laughing on just how many yards UCLA has against Nebraska. If I am a UCLA coach or player I would have no doubt in my mind about the outcome.

I had expected a Nebraska win, but now, I concede.

Last Saturday's game has crushed my Nebraska fandom.

This is season six of the same thing over and over. It may not be the sky is falling but if you are getting hit in the head with apples year after year after year it may not be the sky is falling but there is a problem.

Kaz was able to field a line at Iowa, why not here?
1) Dobson.
2)Pelini's 2 gap.

The players can not get down low because they are trying to see the play.

edit: This is possibly the reason they line up so far off the line too. So they can see the play develop.

The game didn't crush my fandom nor will it even if we don't do as well as everyone (but me) expected us to do this year. Pa-clueless II & Pa-clueless 1 are collectively the problem. We have had the same defensive schemes and other than a few outstanding players early in Bo's tenure that masked all the problems Bo's defenses have had, these kids are NOT buying into nor can they handle his playbook. Stubborn is as stubborn does. And that could get him a swift kick out the door because he doesn't have Osborne to back him anymore.

Bo has simplified the defense so much for JP and the players to a point where a High School team can come in and out scheme them up and down the field. We are the only big time program who doesn't employ an actual defensive coordinator. The players will get better, our DC on the other hand shouldn't be using NU as an internship

Don't know about simplifying, I readily admit I am not a defensive guru, but the confusion is still there so something is wrong with it.

Look what it took to get rid of Watson. Pelini had to find him a job first. Think he'll be able to find pooch a job? They will leave together.

To be fair regarding the confusion 'last Saturday'.

NU went into the game planning to sub younger players in and out that were as good as even coming out of fall camp. Almost bit them in the ass.
