What's the issue? Teams that play a decidedly weaker schedule than literally every P5 team play second fiddle?

You act like there's a major competition difference, like all conferences there's still some crappy teams, but it's not like they're playing fucking Kansas or Vanderbilt every week

You know with how much Saban is complaining about only having one week between the semifinals and national title perhaps we should give him his wish, take Alabama out and have UCF play Georgia instead?

I'm sure Frost, UCF and all the coaches would be willing to do this. Be more interesting than the current game we are stuck with

Exactly it's an 11 person committee with only 5 of college football's conferences represented, it's ridiculous

you really think they're going to give any respect to a school outside those 5 conferences?? No way! It's less money for them if other conferences are involved

Props to UCF for claiming the title, some of it is ridiculous but hopefully it draws attention to a bigger issue

Show us a team that played a schedule that deserves to be included, then you can say it's unfair.

Where was all the playoff crying before the Auburn game?

There is a major competition difference. Middling P5 teams are better than most G5 teams, and just because the best G5 team out there can upset a good P5 team that has nothing to play for, and in a lot of cases had their natty hopes ripped away in their game prior doesn't change that.

We actually bickered about this before the Auburn game

Love the nothing to play for excuse, if you saw how pissy Malzahn and crew were on the sidelines you know they wanted to win that game, there were several times where UCF would have blown the game wide open if Auburn didn't give a crap about winning.

Let's pick on the SEC real quick, LSU lost to Troy and was even down 17-0 at one point, Mississippi State could barely beat UMass only winning by 11, South Carolina needed a 6-6 Louisiana Tech to choke just to beat them by 1, Kentucky could barely beat Eastern Michigan a 5-7 Mac team. SEC teams against some of the more crappy G5 teams...

Nothing to play for is the kind of thing that kills a team during prep/conditioning. Every team once in the game wants to win, there is never a doubt about that. But when you didn't take the time to prepare for the game properly in the week/s prior - then it doesn't matter you are fucking no matter how much you want it at that point.

That's why I love all this negative press for Alabama, why I never want to be #1 before or during the playoffs, etc. Motivates the players during the prep stage.

I'm so glad UW gets to play Auburn next year, apparently if you can beat them, that's all it takes. At least we have a chance now.

Per Georgia and Alabama, you get a chance even if you can't beat them.

I notice you didn't mention these two:

Alabama 41 Fresno St 10
or
Alabama 41 Colorado St 23

Or any of these:
Virginia 42 Boise St 23
Texas A&M 55 New Mexico 14
Ohio St 54 UNLV 21
Washington 48 Fresno 16
Washington St 45 Nevada7
Texas 56 San Jose St 0
Oregon 49 Wyoming 3

To pick on the MWC real quick...none of these teams would be good enough to sustain playing a P5 schedule week in and week out. And quite frankly I have much more respect for the MWC than I do for the AAC.

Prior to Monday's game, the best OOC opponent that any AAC had beaten was 6-6 UCLA.

In their bowl games, Memphis, which took UCF to overtime in it's conference championship game, lost to Iowa St 21-20. USF, which UCF beat the week before the championship game on a last second touchdown, beat 6-7 Texas Tech 38-34 in their bowl game.

UCF is trying to justify a playoff spot on a schedule where the best two teams on their resume are Memphis and USF, where they played Maryland, Austin Peay and FIU out of conference. As a Boise fan this should upset you. Boise has taken worse crap for a schedule that was significantly better than this. Shit, people on this board have given Boise crap for an SOS in the 70's...UCF couldn't sniff double digits.

Not to mention to get to the NC game, one team had to beat a team that lost to Iowa St, the other team had to beat a team that lost to Syracuse.

So have we finally reached the 'Auburn didn't want to be there" mantra?

So you're hard is what you are saying?

I mean understand the point. You would never see the Yankees bragging about how many American League Championships they have won. On the other hand you wouldn't see Cashman taking a baseball bat to the Commissioner's Trophy. That is what I find gay about it.
