LOL @ Titus Rubles. That poor bastard cannot shoot the ball at all. I'm texting BCD during the game and he says Rubles will hit the shot...and he does.

Poor effort by SK. He needs to drink some coffee before the games or something.

Btw, meant to tell you guys that UC recruit, Gary Clark, dates my neighbor's daughter. Kid looks pretty good and still has a lot of growing to do. He puts up some decent points at Clayton High School down here.

A 30 - 3 disparity in attempted FT's is the only reason Pitt scored over 40 points. Hell, it's why they scored over 30, as they hit 19.

Too many of the young guys are waiting around for Kilpatrick to score. When they get the ball, and they are open, they need to shoot.

Caupain should also be starting. Guyn is useless, and Caupain is showing flashes. I would just run with him and let him grow into the PG position. It's clear as day that he's 5 times the player Guyn is.

Guyn is horrible. A point guard who never penetrates the point is "pointless". Caupain should absolutely start.

Miss the Huggins Days....Hate the way Cronin coaches and not big on the players he recruits

Does anyone really talk about the post Kenyon Martin years? Huggins had a great run in the 90's through with Martin, but honestly, his last 3-4 years here were not all that great. Eugen Land busted. Rod Flowers? BJ Grove? Hicks is pretty much the same player as Justin Jackson, except Hicks worked much harder much sooner and ended up with a better offensive post game. Tony Bobbit? Maxiell ended up pretty good, but other than that, UC didn't land a ton of high profile guys after that 2001 season with Martin, Statterfield, Johnson, Tate and I think Logan.

Also, neither Logan, Hicks, or Martin were highly recruited guys expected to come in and be as good as they ended up being. They took it upons themselves to be self made players. Much like Sean Kirkpatrick is right now.

Huggins also had the advantage of playing in, what we can consider today's AAC, in Conference USA. Cronin has rebuilt this team in one of the toughest conferences (former Big East) in the nation, and continually improved every year.

I don't agree with everything Cronin has done, but I do think he's a good coach. I think he's finally finding out that he needs to start finding some guys in recruiting that can simply put the ball in the basket. There's talent on this team. They just need experience and some added size in the post.

I really like Caupain and Johnson. Lawrence and Thomas both show the ability to break down defenders off the ball. Something UC hasn't had in a long, long time. They do have a freshman Center who was once rated pretty high before he tore his ACL. 6'11" 270 guy that can play the post, but he's currently not eligible to play thanks to the NCAA.

They need to find a pure shooter and continue to add size. Cronin also needs to quite trying to find guys from JUCO that have played a total of 3 years of basketball and are from the Sudan or whatever it is he keeps finding these guys. They are useless. It should tell you something when you are 6'10" and 270 and you can't even get into the game when the team is getting bludgeoned to death in the post (see New Mexico or XU games).

I personally think that the biggest issue people have with Mick is they just don't like him personally. He's a guy that makes a lot of excuses for his team. Huggins was brutally honest, and people loved that. He never made excuses for poor play or tried to be something they weren't. Mick isn't like that, and I think it rubs a lot of people the wrong way.
