In the Bear's game vs Washington

Stevenson was penalized at the end of the 3rd quarter for a mindless, stupid 15 yard penalty.

He wasn't a paying any attention on the Bear's LOSING last play / Washington's Hail Mary WINNING play.

I wonder if he realizes it's a TEAM SPORT?

An apology by him, after the game, means nothing.

Matt Eberflus and Waldron (whatever the OC's name is) are all giving this guy massive hugs at practice right now as he almost completely took the national news heat off of them for the actual reason the Bears lost (trying to hand the ball off to an OL).

This is the whole Those who dont know history are doomed to repeat it thing......

The Fridge had 5 touches in the magical 1985 season. Even getting a TD in the SB (over Sweetness). He touched the ball 3 more times in his entire career on offense. Two of them were fumbles.

Washington fans are really enjoying this. He was a punk earlier in the game with a cheap shot to one of our best players and a clown on the final play. The best part it was his hand that hit the ball and knocked it up and back instead of down and out.

Well, he was apologizing to bears fans and not you. And I for one, appreciate the apology. He’s a young promising player and he made a mistake. Hopefully, he learned from it.

The fact that Bears fans in the stands had to point out to him the ball had been snapped and he needed to go do something is by itself enough to get the guy benched. Hopefully a good learning experience for the kid.

As a bears fan, I think this team is on its way to contending. They are in a transition period. They have obvious weaknesses that can be addressed in the offseason, specifically offensive line. Right now is the time to make those mistakes while we still kinda suck.

The Redskins got the win, but I wouldn’t overrate the significance. I’m not so sure this win will look as good as it does now in a few weeks. Once the bears start playing more good teams they are going to start looking terrible again. Starting week 11 they play the packers, Vikings, lions, Niners, Vikings, Lions, and packers in that order. After the Vikings lost Darrisaw, those games look winnable now, but the rest of those games could be losses.

Stevenson has talent. He’s going to keep starting and hopefully he learns along the way.

Stevenson is certainly not the only reason the Bears lost but what the hell was he doing at the end not even focusing on the play? Really stupid. At least he acknowledged his mistake, he’s not a bad player overall from what I’ve seen.

I don’t think the Bears have quite enough to make the playoffs this year - they are decent but I don’t think they make the postseason.

Heartbreaking loss for the Bears, I have a soft spot for them being born in Chicago and living there as a kid...Walter Payton was my favorite player, had Bears sheets etc lol. So I am rooting for them and to have that happen :tsk:

The real stupidity was allowing a team that wasn't in Hail Mary range with only 5 seconds remaining to complete an uncontested 12-15 yard out-pattern in 3 seconds that just about put them in Hail Mary range.
Romo called it as it happened. Those ten yards were huge.

It didn't just about put them in range, it put them in range as it was completed for the win.

Normally Hail Marys are intended for the middle of the endzone so the ball can be knocked backwards or forwards. On the play the QB had 12 yard drop back from the LOS at 47 to the 35. The pass barely got to the 3 yard line. That's all I was getting at. If the Bears were another 4 yards further away the pass wouldn't even have threatened the endzone.

Bellichick also thought the Bears dline didnt play it right, either. He is kinda of a known hard-ass, though, but a whole lot of things have to go right for Washington and wrong for Chicago for that to happen.

I understand what you're saying, but if the Bears play it that way and it's 10 yards further in Washington territory it's still a TD because nobody was behind the play and the dumbass knocked the ball up in the air and backwards. It was a shit play all around by the Bears D.
