Asked for and was granted release.
I figured this would happen but not until after the season.
yes he does. the kids don't actually understand how the rule works. he saves a year of eligibility by redshirting this year, but he still has to sit 2019 because the NCAA requires a "year in residence" at the new school. Which means he would have had to have been registered at the new school this semester or quarter which he will have missed at pretty much every school. There was a ton of discussion on 1620 about this fact. CBS finally did an article on it: New redshirt rule has its complications, including a potential consequence for undergraduates4 game rule...now he doesn't have to sit next year

imo - he should keep getting coaching this year and keep practicing and try and get back his playing time. then if he still isn't happy, he should transfer for the Spring semester. then he can redshirt 2019 and play in 2020, which is what he is looking at anyway and only hurting himself by attempting to leave right now.
I'm not surprised at the transfer, given how little i remember seeing him last Saturday.
As far as Jackson - as others have said, he has the talent, it seems more like he needs an attitude adjustment. i don't feel like his play has been horrible this year. i think he can win it back. he also might understand the rules better and is doing what i'm saying above about staying and then transferring later.
no problem.after I typed that I was trying to read the rules and realized I was incorrect in that statement.
