Will Kyle Turris get his chance in Phoenix? - Cross Checks Blog - ESPN

league sources told ESPN.com that Turris is looking for a three-year deal worth an average of slightly more than $4 million annually or a two-year deal worth slightly more than $3 million.

You may not have been given much of a chance in Phoenix, but you still need to produce before you get a payday.
I had wanted the Canucks to try to pry him out of the desert, but I'm not so sure at that inflated sense of self worth. Of course, this could all be agent-speak so far.

lol. the NTC goes without saying.

Turris is currently practicing with the Canucks. And has the same agent as Brad Winchester, who is also skating with the boys hoping for a contract out of it.
tinfoil hat time.... Turris' crazy salary demands, and possibility of a training camp hold-out, are in an effort to get him moved befoe the season. Back home to Vancouver, of course.

Doesn't he live near Vancouver? It isn't uncommon for players to practice with the closest team before camps open.

If he is demanding 4 per then I think it is an attempt to have Phoenix trade him. He can't seriously think he will get signed for that.

He should take a two year deal, keep improving his game and cash in after that. If he proves a little more I think teams would be willing to show him the dollars.

I'd like to see the Canucks bring him on board and pay him more per year than Burrows, who would of course be biting mad...

Via @friedgeHNIC and his 30 Thoughts weekly column: "Coyotes GM Don Maloney says Kyle Turris "can stay at home and watch Oprah."

Can confirm as many as 6 teams have expressed some level of interest in #Coyotes center Kyle Turris...Calgary #Flames are among them

it'll be interesting to see what his contracts ends up being if he lands on a team he likes.

Josh Bailey 11G 17A 28PTS in 70 games.
Kyle Turris 11G 14A 25PTS in 65 games.

Bailey signed a 2 year deal for 2.1 million. He will make 800K this season & 1.3 million next season.

Is Turris any better than Bailey?

from Calgary Sun

As the Flames continue to scuffle, Jay Feaster's phone will continue to blow up -- and a recent report finds Calgary interested in Kyle Turris. A source close to the situation confirms the Flames are one of six teams that have made "significant" offers for the Phoenix Coyotes forward. Feaster refuses to comment, but it makes sense as the acquisition of the disgruntled Turris would address two of Calgary's biggest needs: A centreman and youth. Coyotes GM Don Maloney insists he has no plans to trade the 22-year-old Turris, who has made it clear he wants out of the desert. ... [If] the club's early woes continue well into November, there's little question Feaster will start the overhaul early

The problemm for teams interested in Turris is the Yotes are finding ways to get points. They really don't need to trade Turris. If they want him to sit & rot that's exactly what's going to happen.

If Calgary wants a young center Feaster should call Garth. I'd trade Bailey in a heartbeat.

The best player for the Flames this season (believe it or not) has been Olli Jokinen. If some of the Flames gave as much effort every game as the Joker, the team's record wouldn't be 2-4-1.

I don't know if changes are needed at this point, however a little more effort wouldn't hurt.

/Giordano has been good as well, he continues to be a shot-blocking machine.
