A win keeps the Chargers in the playoff hunt. A loss brings them to the brink of elimination. I don't read into this too much. They have a lot to gain by winning. The Broncos have a lot at stake, too. The Chargers are a capable team but they are inconsistent.

I can see this one devolving into a shootout, with the Broncos pulling away late. What I would really like to see is the Broncos defense not allow a lot of scoring. The Chargers are inconsistent, but they can be downright explosive on offense. They can crack 30 on our defense easily. They are just as likely to step on their own cranks and struggle to make 10 points. This is a good test for our defense. Rivers is having a great year and Matthews is emerging as a legitimate ball carrier.

Offensively the Broncos need to take care of the ball. Don't turn it over and they will be fine. I am really excited to see all the production they are getting on the ground and in the deep game, and would like to see them keep that up.

Cockiness abounds in San Diego (Which is German for "Whales Vagina")

Not sure what else a coach is supposed to say at this point in the season with his team on the brink of elimination. Also pretty sure he talked like this before our first meeting saying he had a good idea how to attack our team because obviously he had been with us the year before. I think he is just trying to show confidence and hope that his team does the same.

Well, McCoy's knowledge of our team might have helped a little as it was a close game 28-20.

But that was on the road. Short week for both teams and road game at altitude for San Diego?

Maybe more Cockiness than confidence.

All I have to say is-

The chargers truly haven't been as bad as they should be frankly. they have had some devastating injuries but still seem to hang with most teams.

At first I thought McCoy was pretty stupid for saying this, but once I actually heard the sound bite of the quote I think he really misspoke and wasn't doing anything close to guaranteeing a victory.

From the entire sound bite, I think he worded it poorly. What he was trying to say was that the Chargers weren't going to be happy to go to Denver and just compete, that they were going to Denver to beat the Broncos. I don't have much of a problem with that.

Yeah again not sure what you expect a head coach to say..."Yeah we expect to lose this week but if we are competitive then it is a moral victory for our team." Don't think I have ever heard a coach in the NFL talk like that.

Well, unless you're Romeo Crennel or Herm Edwards :laugh3:

Yeah, San Diego's a bad team and shouldn't win. I'll be rooting for them though.

If I was New England this week I think I would tell the coaches to practice the whole week down in Miami and soak in some sun. Tom's looking a little pale lately can't have him not looking his best for his photo shoots with his hot wife.
