If the pitcher threatened the batter, and then hit him, I imagine he’d be in deep shit.
In general, proving intent on a hbp would be near impossible.

you also called it a criminal act. Prison is often involved with criminal acts.

And here you go again comparing the 2 situations. There are mitigating circumstances for garrett's actions (even Rudolph apologized). Should he be suspended? Yep. There is no excuse for what Paterno and the higher ups allowed.

He didn’t miss.
Luckily there was no injury.

Rudolph started it and Garrett finished it. It was stupid and I wish he didnt do it but at leaest for once the Browns stuck up for themselves.

Yes, I guess he could have killed him but very unlikely. There are plenty of plays in a game where a if hit the right way "could be killed".
