Remember back in the day when we thought it was awful that Brett Tomko (Bombko) had an ERA named after him, The Bombko Line (5.00)?

Right now, we'd pay any amount of money for a starting pitcher with an ERA that low who could get through the first inning.

I know this is Coors, and the end of a stinky road trip, and our pitchers aren't very good, but why can't the pitching coach at least coax a clean first inning out of these maroons? Wasn't Young supposed to be the Pitcher Whisperer or something?

Tyler Beede is up. Will he, D-Rod or Bumgarner take Samardzija's place? I'd be okay with Bumgarner, Holland, Stratton, Suarez and Rodriguez. Bump Blach to the bullpen. I think Suarez is better than his ERA and should stay up. Holland, for the crappy game he's having tonight, is better than just about anyone else currently healthy, at least in terms of 2018 production. That may change after this game is over, though.
