One thing about the show that isn't clear to me deals with the "future" scenes in which the same detectives interview Harrelson's and McConaughey's characters separately. In those scenes it looks to me as if the McConaughey character is in police custody, since he seems to be wearing prison/jail issued clothes. If he is in custody, why do the detectives allow him to drink during the interviews?

I dont think he is in custody. my impression (and it could be wrong) is that MM is no longer a cop but a bar tender and doesnt really dress to impress, while WH is still trying to run businesses such as security, pi, etc.

He says in the first episode, I'm off on Thursdays, and on my off days I like to start drinking at noon, you guys don't get to change that, or something along those lines. So he's not in custody, and he must have some low level job that allows him to look the way he does.

Also, episode did not disappoint. This show is solid all around. Character development is moving along nicely, the writing is spectacular and as fucked up as the 2 main characters are you're still rooting for them.

Ah yes, you're right. Must be something like a mechanic or a janitor uniform, not prison issue, that he is wearing.

I don't think that he's the killer. I do think there's a decent chance that he ends up fucking his partner's wife, though.

i think she is begging him to fuck her. But also MM seems to have lived the case so much in his head it seems to be manifesting itself in him. the beer can man? the knife?

no one watching this? i am enjoying it. I think the story is that rusty is on a revenge mission against those that killed his daughter. Every clue tonight seemed to lead to his past. Narcotic texas bike gang he just happened to be a member of while he was undercover....

a 6 minute continuous scene at the end of this weeks episode. Even the director bringing his "a" game....

yeah that was fucking awesome. Don't get that kind of drawn out shot or adrenaline rush on much TV, even premium networks. This show is getting better each week. The actual murder case seems to be moving a little slow but I don't care at all since the character development of MM and WH has been phenomenal.

So what do you guys think of Cohle now? Think he's in on it? I don't think he is, I think he does know who it could be though. I think Ledoux was just a coverboy, just doing some of the dirty work, I do think after Cohle talked to that dude who committed the double murder in the convenience store and hearing about the ''Yellow King'' that it kinda gave him reason to believe somebody else was out there and he may know who.

going back inside that burned down church at the end of the show and realizing the job is not over, but just beginning again.

HA!
:suds:

YUPPPPPPPPPP! IMO, Ledoux was the fall guy, did the dirty work for somebody above him. And after Cohle interrogated the dude who committed suicide, he knew right away the real killer was still out there.
