I think ignoring that B.S. was probably the best way to play it. No reason to give it any validity at the time by responding to it. Skip is all about shock value journalism. The fact that he called Aikman gay when Aikman was on top of the world is par for the course for Bayless.

It is a little odd that Aikman decided to address it now. Maybe Skip rehashed it first?

It's not as though Skip was going very far out on a limb there. I think half of America could have predicted this outcome -- in fact many people did.

Not a Bayless fan at all, but when I heard him say that back then I thought he will be fired if that isn't true. Sure many thought it or predicted it but I never heard anyone with a Bayless like platform come out and say alcoholic.

Bayless may be the only one with any notoriety to call him an alcoholic, but many others said that his partying (code for drinking, drugs) would at some point become an issue. Who knew it would be after 3 starts? Dallas dodged a bullet not drafting this guy. Manziel might be a free agent before long.

I was wearing my Aikman jersey awhile back at a store here around the Detroit area. Someone actually said to me that Aikman was gay. I couldn't believe a guy would say that to me in passing. Just goes to show how far reaching skip's comments had gone. Skip is a flaming ball of buffalo dung.
