The whole of the FBI and the US Secret Service was looking. These guys are good at their jobs.
- The guy used a ton of packing tape which is practically impossible to use without getting a fingerprint somewhere.
- He bought the timing devices in bulk at a retail store. Serial numbers would tell which store got them. Transaction history is easily tracked from there. One dude bought 12 of them? Here he is on camera.
- He printed the labels on a home printer. The serial number of the printer is printed on every single thing you print microscopically. They know which printer printed it. Register your device, they know who owns it.

He may as well have taped his driver's license to one of the packages.

I'm 50/50 just unfriending these people, but a blend of morbid curiosity and a sense that knowing what they're thinking could be useful someday in stopping all this madness prevents me, but on the old Facebook, this came across my news feed yesterday:

"Russia failed. Stormy failed. Khashoggi failed. The MOB failed. Now what? Send bombs to ourselves & blame Trump."

Okay, there's plenty of nonsense to parse here, but what I really want to know is what "Khashoggi failed" means. Failed what? Failed to survive assassination by 15 trained assailants? Yeah, no kidding. Or did he intentionally get murdered to make Trump look bad? Or? What?

I'm so confused.

Did all those indictments, plea deals, and convictions also get overturned? But that's a standard far-right talking point. I'm used to that one. This Khashoggi thing is a new, weird, deeply insensitive and troubling twist.

I'm now arguing with a different person on Facebook about the coverage of the bombs because they're reporting he's a Trump supporter, but the guy who shot the House baseball practice wasn't called a socialist in the reporting, even though a CNN headline called him, and I quote, a "Bernie Sanders supporter and strongly anti-Trump." But that doesn't matter, because now he's moving the goalposts.
