Re: Gun control here, the Conservatives have basically been "eh, it's under control" and the Liberals have been pouncing on that while offering their fairy tale "we'll grant municipalities the power to ban legal handguns in their jurisdictions", which is basically "eh, it's under control" with more words since 1) it wouldn't be codified under either provincial or federal law and 2) because of #1 police services wouldn't waste the time to enforce it. All of which ignores that whole thing about most gun crime being committed with guns smuggled into the country from the US anyway so...

But a big component of this problem is laws surrounding bail for people charged with gun crimes and near-term recidivism resulting in bodies on the streets. This is pretty scary here:



How are you supposed to make any headway when the most obvious candidates to re-offend are being released within days of arrest? With the pandemonium over the last two years in Toronto and other major cities regarding spiking homicide & gun crime rates why the hell isn't this as much a concern as campaign airplanes and dual citizenship?
