So far the this woman did not rat me out to my family but I am still expecting her to.
Shes a cousin by marriage who hasn't seen me for 30 years and kept responding to a Facebook post I made with personal attacks. I responded to her comments, not her insults most of the day until I got tired of it. Her last post accused me of having TDS and her saying my affliction was bad. My response:

Do you mean an STD? I've been wondering because of how little sense your responses make. Has syphilis has racked your brain? Unless it's a resistant strain it's probably easily curable! Go see a doctor! No one has to know!

As someone who lives in a place that ripped the band aid off on shutting down all coal-fired generators at once and then saw electricity prices literally double in five years, there is an argument to be made that trying to do too much too fast simply isn't smart policy.

An earlier NYT article made it clear that the chosen successor at the moment to coal is natural gas. It's worth keeping in mind how most natural gas in the US is obtained, and that some studies have shown that the process of obtaining, transporting and using natural gas are in some ways as bad or worse than the environmental effects of coal.

That's not to say coal is good. It isn't. It so very much isn't. But the chosen alternatives to date may not have been doing much to improve things.
