She's 78 years old, she's a punching bag for the Right, she barely gets higher than 50% approval from Democrats (by comparison, Paul Ryan hovered in the 65-75% range among Republicans), and I honestly find her annoying as fuck even though I typically agree with her policy positions.

Terrible move. Absolutely terrible move. It was time for a change and if the Dems are observing the trend, they should know putting a lifetime politician in as Speaker is not the way to go right now.

And 78 is too fucking old. We have an age minimum to be in the House and Senate. It's time to institute an age maximum of 65 years old. Too men old people losing their damn minds and still in positions of power.

While I agree with the premise...it ain't happening.

Since it requires an amendment, it's just like term limits in that it would require too many people to vote against their own selfish interests.

How about a requirement for each candidate or incumbent running to pass a basic civics test. Weed out the senile and incompetent. That would clean out half the swamp right there, plus the head gator.
