I get that that kind of stuff plays well in a political speech to supporters, but to a foreign delegation of very smart people?
I mean, it's the UN. The institution's most memorable moments include a Soviet president slamming a desk with his shoe, Colin Powell telling the world Saddam had anthrax trains and every Middle Eastern leader in history at one point or another calling America the devil.

The entire place is a joke so why play to them when you can use it to play to your base like every other world leader does?

Young energetic senator making a big splash AND has the initials BO?

If he wins, he isn't staying in Texas long.

Or a Democratic House representative (oh wait, it already happened).

Well, it is becoming "normal".

Eventually one of these nuts is going to shoot a GOP senator. This is insanely irresponsible behaviour to encourage.
Exactly it has nothing to do what political affiliation. Just too many crazy people (or folks that think guns are ok to settle a situation) in general.

And Scalise was shot last year by that far left whacko.

Because there are some countries - mostly European ones - that take the UN very seriously.

I guess I'm having a hard time letting go of the notion that the POTUS should somehow hold himself to a higher standard than a zealot dictator.

Trump's not quite that bad, he's more like Frank Burns in my opinion...

At least people were paying attention to him.

I'll be here all week, try the veal and don't forget to tip your server...

I wonder how the people who think its cool that Trump began his UN speech by praising himself feel about athletes, particularly black athletes, who boast about how well they played after a game.
