So let me get this straight... before the Pens signed Matt Cooke, I was allowed to discuss dirty hits. But now I'm not. But if the Pens traded Matt Cooke, I would be allowed to again.

What I'm allowed to discuss, on a message board, is determined by things I have absolutely zero control over.

Yeah... that makes a whole ton of sense.

Horse has already been beat to death and beat twice more, but just to answer your question I never said what people are allowed or not allowed to do, I just said it makes Penguins fans look hypocritical to start posts pointing fingers at other players. If you dont like my opinion thats fine but your post had absolutely nothing to do with what I previously posted.

Also I dont care about this anymore so if anybody else wants to continue this little debate I wont be responding.

lol... right, I knew about Peters and Hill, Barnaby was a fucking nut case but he seemed more like a cocaine type of guy. Emery, yeah. But as far as widespread use like baseball? I doubt it. Not making excuses for the guys, but Peters had no skill, he didn't even know there was a puck until his third year in the league. If he wasn't strong enough to knock a guy out, he wasn't in the league. Hill I believe was fighting chronic groin problems, I'm guessing he realized he was older than dirt and needed a little something extra to rehabilitate. Barnaby would probably snort wood chips if you told him it gave him energy, that dude was nuts.

But as far as NHL regulars, guys who aren't worried about their jobs... it would really surprise me if even semi stars like Mike Fisher or Nick Kronwall would touch the shit with a ten foot pole.

But on that outer fringe? It wouldn't surprise me.

Agreed. This is basically what I was saying.

If Gretzky used Steroids like Bonds did, he had a terrible doctor. Hockey doesn't have that culture that baseball does, but borderline guys are probably doing it. It's unavoidable. Shit... I know of guys who do steroids and HGH who don't even play a sport for a living. How fucked up is that?

In all seriousness if you want this kind of play to stop and dirty players to be handled properly the first step that should be taken is firing Collin Campbell and replacing him with Pix :D

I think you have Jeff confused with Eddie......

Why is Jeff aka chief? I'm oblivious to this one

Tee-hee. I can't wait until Chief... er... Jeff sees this.

=)

I don't see what the big deal is, it's a sign of respect and admiration for someone who you view as your superior, like an Indian chief.

He had A thread A while back on nicknames and how he hated being called chief at work so everyone naturally started calling him chief

Jeff went on a big rant about how he hates it when people call him chief... of course, we all saw it for the sarcasm that it was and now we know he likes it when we call him chief.:D

He got pissed off some people at work kept calling him chief, so we never let him forget it.

I think that'll clear up any confusion:D

Sounds like something a Rangers fan would do.

We had a guy at work that got pissed every time we called him chief too...I wonder if he was a Rangers fan!

I bet after calling him chief so much he went nuts and became a Bruins fan...

Jeff's a Bruins fan...

...for now.

I would think that it would turn him into a Blackhawks fan.

I live in an area full of rangers fans as much as i would hate to anger them I can test this theory out

by the end of the week they'll all be Bruins fans

Jeff needs to get in here and see how much we've been ragging on him. I'll bet that hybrid Boston and New York temper will be fun to watch.

Jeff doesn't always watch Football...

...but when he does, he roots for Kansas City.

WOW, I feel like a fucking ICON! :D

You can all kiss my ass...

I'm a Bruins fan god damnit. For life, and have been for a long time... You mother fuckers better drop that Rags shit from my name.

Kansas City!? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! NO! Fins :L

AND MY NAME IS NOT FUCKING CHIEF!!!

So, how are all of you this fine morning?

Just to add, I will be having the incomparable Paul Steigerwald doing the PxP for the cage match of doom, and it will be available on Pay Per View. "GET BACK IN YOUR CAGE GILLIES!" :)

Maybe it's just me...but this player is much different than the Cooke's, Avery's, Ruutu's, etc... I AM NOT DEFENDING THEM... however, they ae hockey players... Gillies plays like 2 minutes a game... comes back from a 9 game suspension (from a flying elbow to the head, and then hitting the player while he is concussed laying on the ice) and then does this...

Please stop all the Cooke, Avery, even Bertuzzi comparisons... they each have their fair share dirt on them... but Gillies is in a class of his own.

Perhaps, but I still think a ban is a little extreme. As well as anything more than 15 games.

Gillies should be suspended for the season--but I like Ray Ferraro's idea--you really want to punish Isles, make him play 15 minutes a game.
