This has nothing to do with the Pens. If a dumb goon wants to come off a nine game suspension and board a Wild player, and then sock him in the dome, anyone who wants to can rip on him for it. What do you want the Pens fans to do, pool their money together, buy the team, and trade him? Should they go find a gun and shoot him in the knees so he can't play? I wouldn't complain, personally, but it doesn't seem very realistic. Every team has some idiot hack who cheap shots people. I can't talk because of Abdelkador and the ghost of Chris Chelios, Pens fans can't talk because of Cooke, you can't talk because of Pronger and Hartnell. I guess we should all just turn a blind eye to dumb goons because no one has the balls to go wait outside their favorite team's locker room and crack their dirtiest player with a lead pipe.

Whatever you say chief, I dont go around starting threads pointing out every team's questionable hits. How many times has Hartnell been suspended? How many times SHOULD have Cooke been suspended this season?

My point is valid whether you think so or not, people in glass houses should not throw stones. With everything that has been going on with Pittsburgh this season with dirty plays/hits/suspensions they really shouldnt be pointing any fingers.

But his point is that we don't employ Matt Cooke. Most of us even call him out. I can't stand the guy -- I think he hurts the team with all his dumb penalties. We don't "live in a glass house" because we don't write Cooke's paychecks, and so we can "cast stones."

That wasn't a questionable hit, that was a friggin braid dead move by a guy coming off a much talked about 9 game suspension. It was news worthy. Would it have been Ok if a Sharks fan started that thread? Are they off limits? Just curious.

I don't know how many times Hartnell has been suspended, I'll guess two, but he's been involved in a lot of knee on knee hits and questionable boarding calls. If I had my way Cooke wouldn't even be in the league anymore. He's dirt.

If a Pittsburgh fan wants to defend Cooke and then run around ripping on every dirty hit they see, yeah that's hypocritical. But they didn't sign Cooke, Pens management did. I don't agree with everything my team does, I really don't like Franzen and Zetterberg's 83 year contracts, but the fact that they exist doesn't preclude me from ripping on Kovalchuk or Hossa's deals.

Remember (don't know if you got this highlight in the states) before the Pens-Isles incident there was a clip of Martin fighting and Gillies stayed close to the fight, rocking back and forth, yelling like he was coaching Martin in the gym. I thought he looked crazy at the time. Looks like I was right.

I see stimulants and/or steroids in this guy's daily diet.

Call me naive, but I don't see a lot of NHLers employing the use of steroids... now, a half wit knucklehead like Gillies....
