He hit Buttercup, not just any guy. That will lessen his suspension by at least three games...
Good thing it wasn't Gonchar that made the hit, otherwise Clutterbuck would probably be the one getting suspended...

That wasn't a questionable hit, that was a friggin braid dead move by a guy coming off a much talked about 9 game suspension. It was news worthy. Would it have been Ok if a Sharks fan started that thread? Are they off limits? Just curious.
I don't know how many times Hartnell has been suspended, I'll guess two, but he's been involved in a lot of knee on knee hits and questionable boarding calls. If I had my way Cooke wouldn't even be in the league anymore. He's dirt.
If a Pittsburgh fan wants to defend Cooke and then run around ripping on every dirty hit they see, yeah that's hypocritical. But they didn't sign Cooke, Pens management did. I don't agree with everything my team does, I really don't like Franzen and Zetterberg's 83 year contracts, but the fact that they exist doesn't preclude me from ripping on Kovalchuk or Hossa's deals.
He had A thread A while back on nicknames and how he hated being called chief at work so everyone naturally started calling him chief
Jeff went on a big rant about how he hates it when people call him chief... of course, we all saw it for the sarcasm that it was and now we know he likes it when we call him chief.
He got pissed off some people at work kept calling him chief, so we never let him forget it.

Sounds like something a Rangers fan would do.
We had a guy at work that got pissed every time we called him chief too...I wonder if he was a Rangers fan!

I'm not going to argue your opinion, so i'm not going to waste your time, and its my opinion that Penguins fans shouldnt be pointing fingers. Under the same instance when the Flyers had 5 players suspended for dirty hits in 07 it was my opinion that Flyers fans should keep their mouth shut when it came to other players dishing out hits.
I bet after calling him chief so much he went nuts and became a Bruins fan...

I live in an area full of rangers fans as much as i would hate to anger them I can test this theory out
Call me naive, but I don't see a lot of NHLers employing the use of steroids... now, a half wit knucklehead like Gillies....
I just think that's a bit extreme. If you didn't like your players doing it, you have the right to not like other players doing it. Like I said before, you're not paying their salaries, so there's no hypocrisy there.
NAIVE!!!!
Andrew Peters tested positive. So did Sean Hill.
From what I've heard, I'm pretty confident that Barnaby did it.
Ray Emery almost certainly took steroids. Avascular necrosis is a VERY common consequence of anabolic steroid use/abuse.
I personally think that a very small percentage of NHL players take steroids but at the fringes and among the goons, I think that percentage skyrockets. JMO.
I could say by going to games we as fans pay the players salaries but as A devils fan that would make me wonder who's paying kovalchuk

So let me get this straight... before the Pens signed Matt Cooke, I was allowed to discuss dirty hits. But now I'm not. But if the Pens traded Matt Cooke, I would be allowed to again.
What I'm allowed to discuss, on a message board, is determined by things I have absolutely zero control over.
Yeah... that makes a whole ton of sense.
