hogwash golston went down reyes went down and proved ineffective while murphy improved his game i submit he would have beat both guys out and stands behind baker as the best d/lineman on the team as his play ON THE FIELD THIS YEAR DEMONSTRATES

gallette as a redskins player has done nothing and we have no evidence supporting he would have been able to be his old self because low and behold he gets the same injury again

Murphy now has a chance to shine b/c Smith and Rk are not playing well right now. In training camp and preseason he made no noise at De. So I don't know how you can come to those conclusions. He is making the best of his chance at OLB right now. But at this pace he is at a 12 sack season. Hey I hope so.

in fact his play is putting kerrigan and smith on the bench

yes they arent performing however HIS play is keeping him on the field

Plus you are dismissing the fact that JG's injury doesn't hurt this team. Yes Murphy is off to a good start but I cant see Smith and RK performing at the level they are at right now.

i am not dismissing JG 's injury is hurting the team , i am dismissing that he somehow gave murphy an in . his gains in hand strength , hand placement and overall strength gave him the ability to take advantage not JG being in a walker for 2 years

i think if he gets 7-8 that he did well and is certainly worth keeping i wont go off the deep end , he is a rotational guy at this point but he is valuable

Why would you bury Kerrigan after 3 games. One of Murphy's sacks was initially credited as half a sack and Kerrigan got half. They correctly gave Murph the entire sack. You guys give up on players so quickly.

I just think if JG was healthy it would of cut into TM playing time. I don't see RK and PS doing nothing for the whole season.

Do you think JG would be plating better than TM? Let me phrase it like that.

I don't forsee RK or PS sitting the bench the entire season either, but it gets a bit tiresome with you always adding extras in there. Why can't you just say TM may be better than I thought and I hope he keeps it up?

I thought he was a backup ST player and that is what he is. You cant tell me the JG injury didn't help his cause. The only way I would be dead wrong is if he becomes a consistent starter and blows up for 12-14 sacks this year with 4 or 5 FF.

So if he only has 11 sacks and 3 FFs, you wouldn't be convinced?

Probably. Doesn't he have 2 FF right now? Plus if those sacks come in big time situations then absolutely yes.

Are you kidding me? With what thus far has been an awful pass rush I would think that anyone on this team who has 10+ sacks should be given props regardless of how they are obtained. It doesn't mean that player deserves to be in the pro bowl - just that they are at least contributing something.

I somewhat agree the problem is our defensive coordinator refuses to bring pressure on 3rd and long. He started to change his tune late in the 4th qtr sunday. By bring more pressure in passing situations it should generate more team sacks. We have the most talent in the division but I think we have the worst coaches in the division as of right now.

Just for your awareness, JG only has 2 seasons with 10 sacks and the most FFS he has had is 3. Yet, for you to be wrong, TM needs to tie or exceed JGS best sack season and beat his best FF season? Just how many players do you think get 10+ sacks every season?

The JG injury and Paea cut changed everything. You guys forget all about this. It allowed him to be the 3rd OLB and be productive. He has a chance this year to prove me wrong. I hope he does it.
